It's wizardly properties will help to keep your skin young looking and wrinkle free. First time my lips got badly chapped and were dried out for days - all around my mouth not just lips. But worse : my eyes swelled up and it was a full in orioercalkergic reaction. I applied product carefully and correctly patting on while face and cautiously patting my fingertips around edges of eyes. It must have penetrated at eyelid area from minimal amount left in fingers . I can barely open one eye today and delicate skin around eyes is swollen/puckered and eyelids are puffed up. Thankfully, I seem to be keeping most of them at bay, though I hadn’t really reckoned on the scourge of uneven skin tone or, worse still, “skin mottling”. Thankfully I seem to have sidestepped both, though I am only in my early fifties so the perils may yet await me – however, I do fall into this product’s target category (according to the packaging), that being “30+ skin that’s seen some action”.I try to look after my skin and moisturise daily, so was keen to try out this Vitamin C enriched “ultra brightening serum” product. As a man, I must confess to having been a bit mystified by its name, the implication being that my skin was in need of brightening – an adjective I had never thought of using with regard to my epidermis! Was it dull? I hadn’t thought so and if it is, did I want it replaced with shiny skin? Ah well. I have dutifully applied the serum (which is glisteningly smooth and effortless to apply), orange in colour and housed in a glass bottle with a dropper lid, as instructed for a few weeks now. It does seem to add a slight sheen to the skin (and I am still not convinced I either want or need this!) but it naturally dissipates shortly afterwards. Still, it applies easily and has a zingy, slightly tingly afterfeel which I imagine is due to the grapefruit, lime and lemon peel ingredients.Apparently, its secret weapon is the unprecedented power of the 30% ethylated ascorbic acid (or Vitamin C) it contains, which the packaging trumpets is one of the highest amounts ever to be included in such a product. The correlation between applying Vitamin C to the skin, in the form of this serum, and the ability to “clarify” and “restore”, “provide evenness and ultra brightness” to the skin (whatever the latter means) is not really made. So, I am left somewhat unconvinced.For the technophiles: it contains no parabens, alcohol, sulphates, phthalates or mineral oil and is both vegetarian and vegan friendly.As for a lasting and visible effect; well, I cannot say truthfully that I have seen one, but I do suppose a dramatic rolling back of the years might have been a little over optimistic.If I had a gripe, it is probably the copywriter’s guff on the packaging. Suffice to say it is, in the main, nonsense which blathers on about the accumulation of superior knowledge as one ages, on every subject from making the perfect roast potato to escaping boring social gatherings. You might well ask what any of that has to do with Vitamin C-enriched skin serum.
