I used as a preventative measure as that particular engine was notorious for headgasket failure and the car is still running in 2022 never having had a problem with the engine except an alternator, so I would say long term damage is ZERO. I have used it in all my cheap runaround cars I have bought as my 3 sons got thier first cars and never had problems with it.
