It will not protect the image on laser paper or ordinary uncoated papers. **Q: Would this make a matte print look glossy?** A: I found the end result very satifactory, although I had to hang my prints on the washing line to remove the very heavy smell. Not unpleasent but strong. I made a retirement album full of home printed photo's and used the spray to fix and seal. Easy to use with lovely results. **Q: is this good for fixing newsprint so it doesn't come off on your fingers?** A: No. This product only works on inkjet coated papers and will not create a barrier on print made on standard, uncoated paper. If you spray it on non inkjet coated paper, the spray will simply soak into the paper and will not create a barrier on top. **Q: If spraying lightweight watercolour paper to fix pale outlines; would it then prevent the watercolours from sinking in?** A: You cannot use watercolours on top of the spray. The secret is not to linger with the spray over a particular area as this leads to a variable gloss finish. Although the finished , treated surface retains its glossy appearance, it can feel like a fine sandpaper to the touch.
