## Overview

Epic by White Wizard Games is a non-collectible fantasy card game designed for 2 to 4 players aged 13 and up. With a playtime of 20 to 40 minutes, it features 120 unique event and champion cards, allowing for deep strategic gameplay without the need for additional purchases.

## Description

Product Description Epic is a fantasy card game by White Wizard Games which aims to recreate the TCG-style experience from a single box, with no additional purchases required. Epic is a card game designed to start quickly but also to reward deep, strategic plays. In Epic, you take on the role of an elder god, in conflict with other elder gods. The cards in your deck are your champions, who fight for you, and events, which represent your will imposed on the mortal realm. In Epic, the turn sequence is easy but there are many options to choose from. You begin the game with a hand of five cards – each card costs either one gold or is free. You get one gold each turn — you don’t need to draw special resource cards or energy cards just to play with your other cards. Instead of figuring out which cards you might be allowed to play, you choose which card you want to play. Epic is non-collectable, so every box contains the same 120 unique event and champion cards, with 8 double-sided cards to represent temporary "token" champions. One box supports preconstructed, sealed and draft formats for 2-4 players, two boxes up to 8 players, and three if you want to create a full constructed deck or a "cube" environment for drafting. Directions Full rules included and supported by a dedicated website with a one-page rule sheet, incorrect, tournament rules and background lore. Box Contains This set comes with 120 cards (with the Epic cardback), 8 double-sided tokens, and rules

Review: A Good Fantasy CCG Without Hassles... - Collecting Game Cards like these can be an expensive hobby, specially if you're determined to track down every available card for a vast and ever-growing plethora such as the leading brands tend to have. Epic provides a single 120 card stack, with no duplicates save the 8 'token' cards. Whilst there are expansions for Epic, you don't NEED them - they just add some extra variety. The set is divided into four alignments (essentially wild nature, evil, good and arcane), making it readily suited to two to four players. It's equally easy to use dice or some other means of random choice to simulate an opponent(s) if you wish to play singly. The cards in this set feature attractive artwork and a clear, pleasing design. The deck is divided between Champion cards - assorted creatures - and Event cards which are used to cast spells, transform lycanthropes, cause lightning storms, etc, etc, and effect the creatures and thus the course of the game. The creatures are of a wide variety including Medusa, Dinosaurs, Fairies, Demons, Angels, Dire Wolves, Minotaurs, Dragons, knights, wizards, Vampires, Unicorns, Trolls, etc, etc - along with the unwelcome and perplexing silliness of sticking King Kong in for no very legitimate reason. One thing about the creature cards perplexes me. Most games of this type tend to throw up some slightly odd combat ratings for characters in the interests of making the game "balanced", but Epic has a few real oddities. Such as the Winter Fairy. This is a Fairy - a Fairy, no less - who has exactly the same combat rating as a gargantuan subterranean worm monster that must be close to two-hundred feet long to judge by the artwork and has individual fangs bigger than a man. And this Worm that Arrakis Forgot has the same combat rating as a Fairy. The same Obviously Lethal Fairy also has an identical combat rating to the "Dark Leader", a hulking, armoured knight presumably relatively high in the hierarchy of evil. Odd that. The shockingly dangerous Winter Fairy is one of my favourite cards in the set, actually. And there are plenty of other values on some of the characters that seem totally out of proportion, one way or the other. But these are the kind of quirks that only bother people like me who spend FAR too long considering how a Fairy takes on a two-hundred foot long monster fang-worm on an equal footing. The game play basics are straightforward, and the more detailed elements are easily picked up with a little practice. Also, as with most such games, you can always bend the rules to your own preferences anyway; I usually do - it even says as much in Epic's included instruction guide. For anyone looking for an engaging fantasy card game neatly contained in one simple package, this is a good option. Especially if you like Killer Fairies and giant worms that would make Graboids turn tail.
Review: Excellent value for money. - This is an awesome game and very good value for money. It's a shame that the expansions are so expensive and it looks as though I shall be restricted to the core game. But the saving grace of this is that the core game is sufficient without any expansions. I haven't played this yet but am looking forward to playing it soon and adding it to our usual Star Realms and Shards of Infinity. .............. A day later:- Now played this. Exceeded expectations. Fairly difficult to grasp (for a non-MTG player!) but excellent and well worth staying with. This will definitely get played often with my game playing friends (who aren't many as I'm now 82!).

## Questions & Answers

**Q: wanting to buy it but delivery not available to israel... why?**
A: I suggest that you try Amazon.com as they deliver outside of Europe.Dave

**Q: Can you play this solo?**
A: No, you need to play this with at least one other person. Can be played with up to 4 people with a single deck.

**Q: can this game be played with the Hero realms pack, or is it separate?**
A: It is a separate game, with different mechanics. I like Epic much better than Hero Realms. Epic is not a deck builder. The strategy options of choosing combinations and order of moves is good - we've had a lot of fun with Epic.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant card game for those that don't want to be ...
*by S***X on 14 November 2017*

Brilliant card game for those that don't want to be in a cycle of endless booster packs. Enough cards to have many many varied games, great art and just good fun. Downsides are some of the card rules aren't that clear but can be clarified looking them up on online, you'll also likely need to make copies of the token cards (wolves, demons etc) as you don't get anywhere near enough in the deck. You'll also need +1 counters. For health scoring there is an official score keeper app in the Google play store
