## Overview

Dog Rocks Urine Patch Preventer is a 600g pack of natural mineral rocks designed to reduce nitrates in your dog's drinking water, preventing urine burn marks on grass without altering urine pH or causing health issues. Safe for all pets, easy to use, and lasting two months per pack, it offers an eco-friendly, non-medicinal solution for a greener lawn.

## Description

Many products claiming to cure your lawn of
burn marks will alter the pH of your dog’s urine,
which can cause urinary tract infections. Dog
Rocks do not change the pH of your dog’s pee.
They are completely natural with no side effects
apart from a lush green lawn.
Dog Rocks are a 100% natural & convenient non medicinal prevention & cure to pet urine burn marks on grass.
You simply place the Rocks in your pet’s drinking water; they work like a sponge absorbing excess nitrates & other trace elements from your dog’s water meaning there is less of a concentration of nitrate in your pet’s urine which ultimately means that the pee will not kill your grass. Less nitrates in, less nitrates out!
One pack of Dog Rocks will last you two months and you will need to change the rocks every two months as they become saturated and less effective.
You will need one pack of Dog Rocks per water bowl and it is very important to make sure that your pet drinks mostly from this source of water, as any other water that they drink will not have been filtered by Dog Rocks and will therefore reduce the benefit of Dog Rocks.
There are usually 2 or 3 rocks per pack of Dog Rocks. They are entirely natural so the size and shapes of the rocks do vary.
…None, apart from a perfect lawn or back yard. Dog Rocks have absolutely no harmful side effects to dogs, and even if your dog shares his bowl with your cat or other household pet, it is fine for them to drink water with Dog Rocks in. There is no change to the pH balance of your pet’s urine or drinking water.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do they work? There are no instructions on the site**
A: Dog Rocks is a magnetic rock that acts like a sponge and removes the nitrates, ammonia and harmful trace elements from the water. If you place 100 grams of the rock to 1 litre of water. Preferably use a pitcher so this will allow the Dog Rocks to work effectively. You can then top up your dog's water source with already treated water, thus giving your dog a cleaner source of water and saving your grass.

**Q: My dog shares a water bowl with our cat. Will this harm the cat?**
A: Both my cat and dog share water bowls- both girls are fine.

**Q: Didn't work for me, did they work for anyone??**
A: These were brilliant for us, my partner had recently dug out all the dead grass and replanted... Then we started using the dog rocks and we've only had faint yellow patches appear when we're close to repurchasing. I highly recommend these!

**Q: Why is this now an amazon prime item? I can’t buy it now!**
A: Yes you can. You don't need to have Prime to buy it, Prime just offers quick and free delivery.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ In my experience they really do work but think .....
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 10 August 2019*

I started using these after a recommendation from a friend, and noticed a significant improvement in the lawn. Then, slowly I saw patches appearing on the lawn, and having read many mixed reviews, I used them on and off for a few years (maybe continuing to use them, but not replacing them as often), with mixed results. That said, I stopped using them completely for 3 months and REALLY noticed a difference in the lawn i.e. a LOT more burn patches, which led me to think about why they maybe were not working when I was using them. Simple answer - ALL of the dogs water sources need to be treated, and the tangible difference in effectiveness on my lawn also coincided with ... installing my ponds. My dog drinks out of the pond, drinks from plant pot saucers, drinks from containers in the garden that have filled with rain water, and she drinks from the bottle I take out when we go for long walks - filled straight from the tap. Duh! Basically, she will drink from everywhere except the treated water if she has the option - not because it has dog rocks, but because the other sources all probably taste nicer not originating from the tap!Since I've removed the other options, and now fill her walkies drinking bottle from an old water filter jug that now contains dog rocks and not a Brita filter (note to guests, use the fridge for drinking water not the Brita jug) .... no lawn burn at all.I don't doubt these rocks may not work for all dogs, but when my dog drinks primarily from 'dog rock water' (I'm never going to stop her slurping puddles and the like!) the burn is absolutely minimal. My advice - use dog rocks and think about the other water sources available to your dog and try to treat or minimize them. This is the reason I give them 5 stars overall but only 3 stars for ease of use - its not the product, its the nature of our dogs!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ They do work, but don't expect perfection
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 26 March 2018*

I have been regularly using Dog Rocks for several years now and am convinced that they do work.Prior to getting this product my small lawn had been gradually deteriorating under the strain of two dogs' regular peeing, however as soon as I started using Dog Rocks the problem noticeably improved.Since then I have got into a regular pattern of using them. The packet says the Dog Rocks last for three months, and indeed they come with a little sticker to put in your diary to remind yourself that they need replacing. My approach has rather been to keep using the same Rocks until I see the urine patches start to re-appear and then replace them. Each time I replace the Rocks the "burnt" patches disappear once again, giving me renewed proof each time I'm not just throwing my cash away. The only downside really is the hassle of making sure your dog is drinking most of it's water from a supply that has been pre-soaked in the rocks. My approach is to leave the rocks sitting around in a jug full of water and then fill the dogs' bowls from that water. If you just leave the rocks directly in the dog bowl, then it's likely your dog will drink from the bowl before the rocks have had a chance to weave their magic. It's also worth saying the results aren't perfect. Your pooches' favourite wee zones may still struggle. I have a washing line pole in the centre of the lawn which my male dog can't resist, and no amount of Dog Rocks seem able to save the area immediately around that. They do however do a fantastic job of protecting from the more random patches which my lady dog leaves lying around.I have no idea how they work, and as other reviewers have commented it's hard to imagine how they could..My own experience over several years' use however is that they definitely make things significantly better.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Too big for the bowl...
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 5 June 2025*

I've purchased these before and have been more than pleased with them.. However, this time the rocks are too big. Normally I put them in my dogs water dispenser but as you can see from the photos this is not possible. As they are so big the water doesn't cover them... I've tried a couple of bowls. The mess my dog makes licking around the rocks is not good.Bring back small rocks as they defiantly do work.
