Was not the DPF, just a sensor proble.

*by M***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 February 2013*

**UPDATE 2**For those who might find this useful, it turns out that in my case one of the sensor pipes that detect the pressureacross the DPF had come off, hence this whole time it was a sensor problem. These pipes are easy to seeon the focus. The sensor is mounted on the left of the battery. Follow the two pipes towards the front of theengine to where they connect to the catalytic converter/DPF (all one unit). If the pipes are off, or have holes, then this is your problem. Ford dealer wanted £180 to fit a new sensor and pipes (can't be bought separate),which is a joke. Peugeot co-developed the engine, and sell the piping for £8, although they are much shorter.Simply used some copper piping to join the new piping to the old, replacing the damaged ends, and shovedthem back on using the original clips (you need a small hand available to reach in, but doable).Ford claim this is rare, but searching the net tells a different story. The pipes degrade from the heat. You could also just buy any silicon piping (heat resistant) and use that.**UPDATE**After two more week the engine light was back. Tried other manufacturers with the same outcome.I have now had a proper regen done on the DPF at a ford garage (cost £45). No light for 1.5 weeks, but we'll see. Could also be damaged sensor pipes, but after the regen my car has definitely got a bit morehp back that i never noticed i'd lost. So, this stuff is good for keeping the DPF clear, but can't really clear it once blocked....maybe.***I diagnosed a blocked filter on a 2005 ford focus 1.6 TDCI using a Maxiscan Diagnostic Scanner MS300(bought from amazon for under £15).The engine warning light was going on and off with increasing frequency, up to everyday.Added the entire bottle of 10K boost to the tank just before filling up (about 45 liters in the tank).I ran the car for 20 miles or so, and then gave the engine 2 lots of revving at 3500 (while stationary) on successive evenings. The warning light has not come on since (about 2-3 weeks). Finges crossed it stays off.You could run your car up and down the motorway at 3500 revs (say in 3rd), but i found revving stationarygot the exhaust extremely hot to the touch. Seemed like a safer approach.(BTW, you need to get the exhaust gasses very hot to burn of the soot). It could be that the revving alone did the trick, forcing a regeneration of the filter, but for a tenneri'll be buying some more in 3000 miles.

    Appears to work.

*by T***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2012*

Some background:- I have a SAAB 93 1.9TDI which has suffered from a blocked particulate filter 4 or 5 times in the past 12 months. It usually clears its self eventually, in about 10 days to 2 weeks. The car suffered a blocked filter again about 4 or 5 weeks ago and would not clear so i took it to my garage who performed a regeneration on it. It worked really well and felt like a new car, however, after less than 2 weeks it blocked again. I could not afford the manual regeneration so soon after the first one so i decided to try the 10K Boost DPF cleaner. I ordered it on a Thursday (the day the blockage appeared again) and received it the following Tuesday (Monday was bank holiday). I added it to the fuel tank that evening and by the time I drove home from work on Wednesday evening the blockage was clear and the car was driving like normal again.Did the 10K Boost DPF cleaner work? I don't know for sure. What I do know is that if the blockage cleared naturally (like it normally, eventually does) it did so much quicker than normal. I am therefore inclined to believe that the product did help. I will purchase another bottle ready for the next time the problem rears its ugly head.

    Recommendation

*by M***. on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 March 2014*

I have 2008 BMW 525d which had passed its milieage of 130k. This has started showing DPF message on my dashboard screen. I have queried few garage and replacement of DPF filter would cost over £1400 and garage specialising DPF removal would charge £400 without replacing SDPF filter. I have researched on few websites how to remove DPF message with little spending - and ended up buying this product on line. I have added two bottles at once in fuel tank and driven on primary route for an hour on for a couple of days. DPF message on the dashboard has dissapeared. I have used this product about four months ago, and dpf message come back again. This is very cheap and economical means to remove DPF but need to add on fuel tank once every few months - works well. Excellent product.
