Ideal for beginners and young learners, it supports steady progress with a proven, highly rated approach. ## Description John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course 2: Revised Edition is an English-language piano tuition course by composer and educator John Thompson, created for young pupils continuing their piano learning after Part 1. This Part 2 method combines a clear, straightforward layout with illustrated characters and carefully introduced material, providing an approachable next stage for learning the piano. As new notes are introduced, pupils are given opportunities to play examples requiring only one hand. The course also incorporates writing exercises, sight-reading drills, review work and accompaniments, bringing several complementary aspects of piano study together. The revised presentation features redrawn versions of the familiar characters while retaining the established course content. The gradual approach gives developing pianists time to become familiar with new notes through playing, reading and written work rather than meeting each idea in isolation. Review material supports continued practice, while the illustrations and characters add an approachable visual element that can help maintain interest as pupils progress. Its familiar structure allows each new idea to be supported by practical examples, written activities and review, helping lessons move forward in manageable stages without losing the course's friendly character. For teachers and families already using Part 1, Part 2 provides a natural continuation of the same clear and simple learning approach. John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course 2 offers a practical next stage for young piano learners working at home or with a teacher. Its combination of playing examples, sight reading, writing exercises, review work and accompaniments makes it useful for regular lessons and practice, while the friendly presentation gives it lasting appeal as a thoughtful music-learning gift. Review: great beginner piano book - This is a really good book, we started off with a school written piano book and then was advised to get this one. It’s a great beginner book that can help to learn to read music notes and small pieces of music. Review: Great beginners' piano course - I love this series We have bought books one and two so far and my daughter has used them from a complete beginner It goes at a really managable pace and the pieces are interspersed with music reading and theory exercises too which is good (although we did buy another theory book for additional practise) My daughter has just started book 2 and I can't believe how well she is doing. The book has really helped her to improve in easy stages and she finds the pieces fun too I highly recommend this user friendly book for any beginner, but especially children (my daughter was 6 when she started using them) ## Features - John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course Part 2 is a really fun easy piano book - following on from the previous book, you will be taught how to play the piano by colourful little monsters, and be playing really fun pieces before you know it!
