I have a dehydrator which is suitable for drying but need to know the ratio of spice to meat + vinegar/water to use** A: Yes it does. But you need to convert quantities as its done per 10kg of meat. It makes the best biltong ever! **Q: Does the spice have an expiry date?** A: I cannot be absolutely sure, but my guess is that dried spices last a very long time. I have this mixed spice in my cupboard and have been using the same batch for several years to make biltong, but mixed with other stuff as the Freddy Hirsch recipe is a bit too salty for my liking. **Q: Is the spice meant to be white/pale?
