I have used them for food in the past without checking (eek), they do not have the food safe logo on. (Nalgene is the brand not the material). A quick google states that the plastics in their virgin state are all food safe. I also called the UK distributor of Nalgene to check, and they confirmed for me that the items in the travel kit are all food safe. Hope that helps .. **Q: Are these BPA free plastic?** A: Yes - they are made from HDPE, LDPE and PP. all three plastics are BPA free. I also spoke to the UK distributor to check and they confirm they are food safe. Hope that helps. **Q: Would you be able to use these bottles for mouthwash for example?** A: Yes, I use them for a mix of toiletries (mouthwash, shower gel, shampoo, etc). They're nalgene so can be sterilised like babies bottles if needed.
