Designed for songwriters, live performers, and remix engineers, it offers built-in effects, pattern play, and flexible power options to deliver studio-quality beats anytime, anywhere. ## Description Introducing the ultimate in portable drum machine technology, The next-generation SR-18 is loaded with cutting-edge drumsets, electronic drums, one-shot hits, and modern percussion sounds, perfect for any cutting-edge musician’s performances and compositions. From hip-hop to country and everything in between, SR-18 nails it on the first take. SR-18 has an effects engine with Alesis reverb, EQ, and compression so you can output recording or performance-ready sounds. Alesis' exclusive Dynamic Articulation technology modifies sample sounds so they change as you play them. This results in sounds that respond accurately not only to dynamic changes, but also with the appropriate timbral and colour changes you'd expect from their acoustic counterparts. Plug in an instrument, such as a guitar, and play along for setup simplicity. You can play in bass parts using the pads on SR-18 or connect a MIDI keyboard for fast, musical low end. SR-18 can be powered by AC or batteries, so whenever or wherever you need to lay down a groove, you’re ready to roll. ## Features - A Studio Icon - Legendary classic drum machine for songwriters, live performers and remix engineers - In Demand Sound - 500 professional sounds included, built-in digital effects for added realism and powered by Alesis' exclusive Dynamic Articulation - Seamless MIDI Connectivity - Complete MIDI support for use with keyboards, computers, DAWs and electronic drum kits - Production Essentials - Pattern Play Mode enables different patterns to be triggered from the pads directly; programmable Drum Roll function; tap tempo for instant beats exactly as you want them - Production Anywhere - Flexible wall (adapter included) and battery powering (six AA, not included) ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B0017Y2TAC | | Best Sellers Rank | 5,629 in Musical Instruments & DJ (See Top 100 in Musical Instruments & DJ) 23 in Electronic Drums | | Body Material | Plastic | | Brand Name | Alesis | | Colour | Grey | | Connector Type | Auxiliary | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars (911) 4.5 out of 5 stars | | Finish Type | Gray painted" or "Painted in grey | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00694318010570, 04571143129218 | | Item Dimensions | 24.1 x 19.1 x 5.1 centimetres | | Item Highlight | 500 Sounds, Midi I/O, Stereo Outputs, In-Built Effects and Processors for Songwriters and Live Performers | | Item Type Name | Drum Machine with 12 Pads, LCD over 500 drum and percussion sounds and 50 bass sounds, 32MB sound set | | Item Weight | 522 g | | Manufacturer | inMusic Europe Limited | | Material | plastic | | Model Name | SR18-240V | | Model Number | SR18 | | Number Of Items | 1 | | Number Of Packs | 1 | | Part Number | SR18 | | Product Warranty | 12 months manufacturer. | | Set Name | SR-18 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | | Upc | 694318010570 133587046168 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Alesis - **Colour:** Black - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 24.1 x 19.1 x 5.1 centimetres - **Material:** plastic - **Model name:** SR18 ## Images ![Alesis SR-18 Standalone Drum Machine - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81sd5X3IN+L.jpg) ![Alesis SR-18 Standalone Drum Machine - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81UepXIWQCL.jpg) ![Alesis SR-18 Standalone Drum Machine - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81Vk88-7KDL.jpg) ![Alesis SR-18 Standalone Drum Machine - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ZkQdyH9xL.jpg) ![Alesis SR-18 Standalone Drum Machine - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/713+DfmrGHL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Pattern Name, Style Name** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect drum machine *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 10 January 2026* Finally!!!!! The drum machine I've been looking for!!! If you want access to a plethora of great drum sounds, and the ability to program either simple or complex drum patterns and stitch them together to make great songs then this is the machine for you.Looking forward to using this in a live situation. What a relief!!!!!!P.S. One using this as a portable machine, it doesn't so much take batteries as EATS them!!!! I think I've barely got 60 minutes out of a full set of new batteries. This is a bit of a pain, but still a great unit. Just trying to map it onto my FL Studio DAW next! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value for money *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 17 February 2024* This drum machine is outstanding value. Inside the ususal Amazon packaging the unit was well presented and well packed. As well as the power adaptor there was a quick start guide a few pages long which explained everything clearly, and was written in perfect English. There was also a 58 page reference manual, all of it again in perfect English, which explained evrything in much more detail, and finally an A4 sheet listing all the patterns, drum kits etc. It was simple to get to grips with and sounds great. I own four drum machines. This one was the least expensive, and even though I only got it yesterday, it's already my favourite. A good buy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ SR16 or SR18, Trying to decide? *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 27 January 2024* SR16 or SR18, Trying to decide?I’m a guitarist, but I wanted a drum machine, I don’t know why, but I did. I’ve a Beatbuddy Mini 2 which gets mixed reviews, but which I find exceedingly fun pedal to play along to at home, but I wanted something with midi and more programable.I bought both the SR16 and SR18 to compare. Here are my first impressions for anyone trying to decide between the two, I hope it helps. They both have impressive (yet retro) drum sounds, very usable and recordable with a little tweaking. They both have a learning curve, luckily, Alesis have good manuals included in the box. Side by side, the differences are notable.Sizewise, the SR16 is smaller, but not by much, the SR18 seems more ‘professional’ in build quality, though both of these units have a reputation for being very reliable. The keys are bigger, more tactile (and have a nice ‘zx spectrum’ rubber vibe!) I found the SR16 to be a little hit-and-miss when tying to 'tap' at the relative pressures, both are velocity sensitive, but the SR18s are a lot easier to use for input. Also, the spin wheel is better and the layout is less cramped, that little extra real estate is put to good use. It’s not perfect, but the revisions make it easier and more rewarding to use. The unlit display on the SR16 is a huge oversight and should have been corrected even if it meant adding another to the price. I can’t imagine using it on a dim stage... at all. The SR18’s display is limited by modern standards, but is large, well lit and easy to read at a glance.Drum sounds are personal taste, both machines included some good kits. The SR18 adds ‘play along bass’ which can be turned off. For some reason, only the SR18 can run truly portable (6x AA batteries) which seems another cost-cut too far for the SR16. A design choice as strange as omitting a backlight for something so portable.I would have loved to see the keys backlit on both models or at least the more essential ones ‘bordered’ with a glow to aid navigation, it seems a standard these days on other equipment, even at this price point.Your mileage may vary of course, but as soon as I took the SR18 out of the box, I knew the little brother SR16 was going back to meet its maker. It's not a bad machine - at all! But you can see where the extra money went, the SR18 is more suitable if you want to break out of the bedroom and perform live, and I'm sure many solo and duo acts are using it, as you are reading this overview. Which must be a recommendation, of sorts .SR16 / Three StarsSR18 / Four Stars ## Frequently Bought Together - Alesis SR-18 - Studio-Grade Standalone Drum Machine With On-Board Sound Library, Performance Driven I/O and In-Built Effects / Processors - HQRP Foot Switch Compatible with Alesis SR-16 SR-18 Roland CR-1000 Drum Machine DP-2 Damper Sustain Pedal - Alesis ASP-1 MKII Universal Sustain Pedal and Momentary Footswitch with 5ft Cable and Non Slip Bottom --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/48330519-alesis-sr-18-standalone-drum-machine](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/48330519-alesis-sr-18-standalone-drum-machine) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
