## Description

Product Description Sennheiser HD 4.40 Wireless offers good quality wireless sound for every day listening on the move. The closed-back, around-ear headset features Bluetooth 4.0 and aptX compatibility to deliver true Hi-Fi sound with a satisfyingly dynamic bass. Its minimalistic design has been crafted from robust, good quality materials to meet the requirements of the street. Typical audio output ports include: 3.5mm headphone port, red and white RCA audio output ports and digital audio output (either optical or coaxial). In some instances an adapter or extra component will be needed to make the appropriate connection. For example to change a 3.5mm headphone plug to an RCA connection you would use a female 3.5mm to male RCA adapter. For example to change an analog connection (3.5mm headphone plug or red and white RCA plugs) to a digital connection (ie: optical) you would use a digital to analog decoder (like the OREI DA 34). Review: How do these compare... - I love headphones. As such I have a number of different sets that I use for a variety of purposes. I generally use them for at home listening, and usually favour wired open-backed over ear headphones that avoid bloated or muddy bass. My current sets are Sennheiser HD599, AKG 702, Beyer 880 and also HD 598CS, and Bose soundlink II. I have tried a number of others that have had to be returned for a variety of reasons. I have wanted a Bluetooth Headphone for casual use, without it being so expensive that I would be afraid to throw it in a bag-and in these Senns I have found it. They are quite different to my usual style, but they represent great value for money. There are two main qualities that a headphone must have for me to consider it a 'keeper.' Audio quality and comfort. Everything else is optional. Comfort... I'll start with comfort as it was my biggest concern with these. Half the headphones I've tried have been uncomfortable, usually beacuse of my ears not fitting well inside over ear phones. It has often been the case that part of my ear touches the driver and that is very distracting. When I first unboxed these I thought they'd be impossible. The shape and size of the ear 'cavity' is incredibly narrow and small--yet they fit really nicely without irritating my ears. I think this is down the the very deep nd very soft pads. Although 'leatherette' the fabric is also less clamy and sweaty than others (such as the Bose.) Clamping forcxe is just right, and comfort is high. The other problem closed back headphones have is 'thudding' when walking. Although there is some of this it is not nearly as bad as other pairs I have tried, and on a par with the Bose. Sound.. Without good sound everything else is wasted. These have a slightly artificial bump in the bass, but it doesn't come at the cost of clarity accross the range. The highs are very slightly redcessed, but less so than I expected based on reviews-just enough to avoid the harsh sibilance that makes the Beyers fatiguing. Seperation and soundstage are both very good (for the price) and these headphones 'kick' when needed, rumble when required, but get the bass out of the way for more neutral or balanced tracks. If you look for headphones that promote extra bass as a feature then these aren't designed for you. The main word I would use to describe the sound is 'rich and full.' Other stuff. Bluetooth connects, battery is fine, they don't beep bchanging tracks etc. on android. They look fairly high end for the price range. The nearest competitor in my collection are the Bose, and I think I prefer these due to clarity and comfort, but they are both close (with the Bose being significantly costlier.) Closed back are unlikely to ever be my main headphones, but I am happy with these as a truly prtable experience tha retains good quality. I also tried Sony CH500(on ear) which are much cheaper but are the most uncomfortable headphones I have ever worn!
Review: HD 4.40 BT - I bought the Sennheiser HD 4.40 because I decided an extra £50 for the noise cancelling HD 4.50 was a bit overkill. Turns out I was right. If you're mulling over the 4.40's vs the 4.50's get the 4.40's. Ive been using these for a couple of days now commuting on the Tube, watching movies at home and so on. Noise isn't a problem with these the soft ear cups already cut out pretty much all of the noise you need to cut out. They fit very nicely and are reasonably comfortable. In fact the more I break them in the better they're getting. The headband is a little hard, but if you've got thick hair like me thats not a problem. Though, bald guys, you might find the headband a little hard. It is padded and soft but noticeably firm...again this might change over time with use. As for sound quality. The sound quality is excellent as you would expect from Sennheiser but the tone varies according to what you pair these things with. Paired with Arch Linux using an AptX dongle to watch movies using Kodi, the sound profile is punchy, rich, warm and satisfying. Paired with Android (with AptX) the profile seemed a bit flatter (but not overly so) so you may need an EQ if you want to get a more vibrant experience. I use Pi Music player which has a built in EQ and with the tiniest amount of tweaking I got the sound profile just perfect. For comparison sake, if you know what the Bose QC35's sound like then these headphones will sound richer and warmer compared to the cold aggressive tone of Bose (I find Bose headphones to be a bit trebly). Compared to Beats, theres considerably less volume in the bass here, but the bass is still there, its just not blown out, it's absolutely spot on in my opinion. If you're used to something low end like a Kitsound headphone or maybe a Bludio headphone then you'll find more treble here. You'll also notice a more solid Bluetooth reception. The physical controls work perfectly and are in just the right place. The only minor quirk is when adjusting the volume you get a beep for each notch you adjust. Coming from my old headset this was weird but not annoying. Lastly, don't worry about the all plastic build. These are built like a tank. The materials are tough, flexible and pleasant to the touch. They clamp to your face but not too hard. The pressure is well balanced across the cans and the headband. The faux leather cups are soft and forgiving and large enough to get most ears into. If you're an elephant they won't fit. If you're generally considered to be of roughly human size, you'll be fine. I have reasonably large ears and these feel fine to me. Nice and snug. Overall: Rich sound, great build quality, solid reception, brilliant. Excellent value for money and a very solid contender against 'higher end' kit. If you're a Sennheiser fan. These won't disappoint. If you're not, they won't disappoint.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Has anyone tried jogging or going to the gym with these? What was your experience?**
A: I use them sometimes at the gym and they can slide off a bit but not a lot my boyfriend uses then for running and never reported any issues

**Q: Hi can anyone tell me if these headphones can be wirelessly to a smart tv**
A: Yes. I use them with my Panasonic and they are great. I pair them with Amazon tv too, very good sound.

**Q: Do these come with a protective case?**
A: They come with a little sennheiser cloth bag (similar to the material used with those clothes for cleaning glasses lens). It will protect them from scratches if you throw it into your bag at most.

**Q: If I turn the volume up the people besides me will be hearing or annoying them?**
A: Not at all. I can play maximum volume with heavy base and people sitting right next to me still can't hear it. They have a great seal

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Superb headphones!
*by L***S on 16 June 2018*

I was looking for a pair of headphones that I could use to game with (not use as a mic, just for sound) and something I can use with my phone and listen to music on a commute. These headphones certainly looked the part and from the reviews, seemed perfect. At first I have to admit, I was underwhelmed by the initial experience. I'm not 100% sure what I was expecting, I know that I was expecting more. I'm not audiophile, but the sound quality I found initially was lacking. Bass felt like an after thought and the highs were so pronounced that it made everything a tinny chore to listen to. Until I discovered EQs. Then everything changed. I found an EQ on my phone, used CapTune to shape the sound I wanted and found an awesome EQ for my PC. These made the world of difference. I could sculpt the sound I like. The right amount of bass, the perfect level of mids and highs. Now I love them. They're extremely versatile and work well for gaming, for heavy metal (which I listen to a lot of) and for classical/atmospheric music. I can push the volume up and crank up the bass and these don't sound like they're even breaking a sweat. They insulate sound extremely well and I can listen to music at a moderate volume without having the missus poke me and tell me to turn it down. They're lightweight, ear cups are soft and are very comfortable. I've used them for hours on end and not felt like I've needed a break. The headband put a little bit of pressure on the top of my head but after adjusting the fit, that went away, For reference, it was a choice between these and the Skullcandy Crusher Wireless. The main attraction there being the on board bass control, but this proved to be gimmicky at best and an unnecessary distraction if you're willing to tweak the Sennheisers to your liking.
