Most of the time you will want for only one to be active at a time, e.g. from Monday until Friday you leave alarm 1 on, but on Saturday, you turn on alarm 2. It just means you won't have to change the current alarm time and instead just flick a switch to use a second saved alarm time. It's then just another flick of a switch to use alarm 1 again. You can technically have both on at the same time, meaning the alarm would go off at 6am and then again at 8am, using the example above. **Q: why does the description here say 85db?but the internet and manufacturer says 113db?** A: Manufacturer says 113dB for this model, and since they perform the tests and have a reputation to protect, I would be inclined to believe them. Another piece of information worth noting is that the Camo version "Bunker Buster" boasts a 12V shaker - the black and red also has a 12V shaker. What this means is that unlike most people whos'e natural body clocks tell them they they're tired at around 10-11pm, I just don't feel remotely tired until around 2-3am. I have to get up for work at 5 and as such I used to have to set a total of 9 different alarms which still occasionally failed to get me up on time. Not any more! I was looking for a serious, very loud alarm clock that would definitely get me up on time to go to work. Enter the Sonic Bomb.I've been using my Sonic Bomb literally Monday - Friday every week (except holidays) for the past 6 and a half years. It's never once missed a beat and has been successful 100% of the time in getting me up on time. It also keeps fairly accurate time so won't need to be reset often at all. The alarm itself is incredibly loud and the shaker unit even placed underneath 2 pillows feels like about 50 mobile phones bundled together. No matter how heavily you sleep, or no matter how little sleep you get on any given night, this will wake you up on time.The only potential disadvantage is that the alarm is so loud that it could very well wake up everyone in the same house as you. Yes, it really is that loud. However, the Sonic Bomb offers a shaker-only mode with no audible alarm.I can't recommend this heavily enough and due to my sleep issue it's probably saved me from being sacked over the years.Edited to add:At the time of writing (October 2020) I'm still using my Sonic Bomb every week day and it's as reliable today as the day it came out of the box. Still gets me up on time like nothing else can, no matter how little sleep I've had and no matter how early I need to be out of bed.Not the cheapest alarm but if you 100% absolutely MUST be up on time and demand a 100% reliable alarm then accept no substitutes. I have a history of sleeping through up to 5 loud alarm clocks. I believe I must enter a semi-death like state, from which, it is almost impossible to be resurrected. That is, until the Sonic Bomb came in to my life. I had successfully avoided over sleeping in a new job for several years, until I went down with swine flu and had just finished an 18 hours shift. I had to be up again in 6 hours, but that horrible feeling, that I thought had been left behind when I left school, came flooding back. That blood draining 3 seconds of searching panic, when you try to get your head straight and make sense of the blurry clock reading, is perhaps one of the most dreadful of human experiences. Even though my boss understood that I had a reason to be 2 hours late, I felt like a right tool.I signed on to Amazon that morning and found this amazing alarm clock. I totally agree with several other reviewers, if you do not wake when this activates, you have made the sacred journey to the perpetual state of the afterlife. The audible alarm is so loud that I shiver every time I think of it. Even so, if there's still a slight chance that you might not wake up, then the vibration plate is the defacto 100% back-up that we've needed all these years. How they got an exploding jumbo jet in to that small black disc is still a mystery to me. If it's under your pillow, you will wake up. If you have no pulse and have started to decompose, you will be resuscitated and then woken up. You literally cannot believe just how massive the vibrations are. I found that if I put the vibro disc on a wooden table, I could wake the whole house and hilariously convince family members that we were experiencing an earthquake, no I'm not joking, it fooled people several times, to the extent that they came running out of their room in a blistering panic, shouting 'everyone out'.In summary, if you absolutely, totally, must get up at a certain time, we are very fortunate that the genius who created this, has given us a 100% reliable way of not sleeping in and doing 'that' walk of shame. In the recent years, I've always had my parents or housemates waking me up on top of my 2-3 alarms but for the last month or so, I've been living alone and the alarms sometimes weren't enough, even the loud ones.This product changed this situation drastically. The alarm is very loud and you can even change the tone of it if you don't want to get accustomed to the same sound over and over again. The vibrating pad is a new feature for me and it's been very helpful ever since I've had it under my pillow. The loud alarm combined with the furious vibration and the flashing lights on the display will make you feel like you're in the middle of a police raid, which is quite effective to wake me up.The only single annoying thing on this product is the power cut recovery. I fitted a 9V battery to make sure the clock would keep my time and alarm settings in case of a power outage and it did it perfectly but when the power comes back, the display is flashing on and off and you actually need to change the time to make it stop flashing.
