If so, can you input 3.5mm and output on trs?** A: the stereo input and output are a standard 1/8 inch miniplug. I would stick with that. If you have to go to a device with a 3.5mm in/out, you might investigate adapter cables. The internet seems to think these two plugs are not the same thing, and I'm not really familiar with 3.5mm, since in the US we use standard 1/8 inch cables. **Q: can you put headphones?** A: Yes. You can also plug it into a headphone distribution system. **Q: Can this control a mono signal (single in and out cable) between an instrument pre-amp and power amp, or does it have to have a stereo signal)** A: Yes, there are separate left and right channels. Not many other devices can replace a pro XLR preamp while delivering transparent sound like this. Other manufacturers make these but compare the specs. The Signal to Noise on this unit is around 120db which makes it disappear in the signal chain.
