I have found that if you place the head of your brush in the container and twizzle / turn the brush between your fingers while pressing down firmly and holding the pot in your other hand, you get a decent amount on the brush. They mark the point of my oily, spot prone skin starting to improve dramatically to a point where I rarely get any blemishes. I credit the foundation with being a huge part of this. However, this new brush free container is a nightmare. I don't mind using my own brush, but it is really hard to get the powder on the brush due to the nylon stocking type of fabric that covers it. It's supposed to stop you overloading the brush - but actually makes it almost impossible to get any on it. I can see myself having to remove it and tipping a little out to swirl my brush in. I'll still buy this as I owe my relatively flawless skin (at 64) to it - but I will have to adapt the application to make it less frustrating. I’m not sure this would give enough coverage if you had scarred skin but I have used it over concealer and it covered fine, you couldn’t see the concealer underneath. I've never noticed a real problem with it though. It seems to blend with the natural oils and sits better than a powder normally would, almost giving a look sort of in-between a powder and liquid. You get really good, but very light coverage. I also notice it seems to be better for my skin than wearing heavier makeup as I very rarely get blemishes. It's my go to for everyday wear as it's so quick to apply. Probably not the 'very best' makeup I've ever used, but it takes a fraction of the time and no need for blending etc, so much more natural look. It's definitely worth a try! Use less than you think initially and wait 5 mins, and then decide if you want to build further. I often find it looks better when I don't overdo it. It used to take me ages to get ready to leave the house, but I never had time doing the school run, this has made life so much easier :-) **Q: How do you even open this?** A: What I do, is partially unscrew the lid so there's room for the powder to move, I then hold the container like a deck of cards, supporting the lid and tap the lid end into my other hand about 5 times. I turn it back over, tap the top of the lid to loosen off the white plug and carefully open it. Also, the design of the packaging means it’s hard to put an excessive amount on your brush. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fairly good *by L***N on 1 February 2021* I've got to be honest, I've never tried mineral foundation before and I haven't tried L'Oreal's old version of this product so I can't compare this to the old formula or any similar products. Despite this, the product goes on really quickly and looks natural, so I imagine this would be great in summer when you don't want to wear anything heavy, or when you may need to reapply the product throughout the day. It's definitely a light coverage foundation, but I expected that as it's a mineral powder, but I've heard you can build the product up in layers for more full coverage or even use it over the top of something else, like a BB cream, for better coverage although I haven't tried this myself yet. The packaging is nice and feels high-quality and the dip where you put your brush in is the perfect size for most standard brushes (i've tried a few of my powder brushes in different sizes and a real techniques buffing brush and they all fit just fine), plus this dip means the product doesn't get everywhere when trying to get it on the brush. The mesh that that covers the product is very elastic (it reminds me of the elastic cotton material used in fishnet tights) and means you can push the mesh down with your brush to pick up the product at the bottom of the container rather than trying to tap it out into the lid as you might do with other powders.
