The LG-1 is fully compatible with the TG6 (Olympus UK website). In order to fit it you have to remove the ring (which is there on the camera when delivered) around the lens by pushing the button (4 o'clock position) and then rotating the ring. The LG-1 then slots into place and has to be rotated until the button locks. Do ensure that your flash is turned permanently off when the LG-1 is in place. It is worth looking at the instructions for both the LG-1 and the TG6; if you do not have hard copies, then they are available for download from Olympus UK website.
