The retractable blade mechanism works flawlessly and the SK5 steel is top-notch—it slices through tape and thick boxes like butter. It's a bit pricier than a standard plastic cutter, but the build quality makes it entirely worth it.
Review: Fantastic household utility knife. - I love this utility knife. I have it at quick access for all my parcels. The action is smooth and I like the notch for breaking off new blades. The design is also nice to look at and blends into my office instead of most utility knives. I used it when working on bags of soil in the spring and it washed up quite nicely afterwards. If I need another utility knife I will be buying another Hoto. I will say, there's no safety lock on this, so make sure you've got it out of reach of busy hands.
