Box Contains PAIR OF SHELF SPEAKERS Review: Not meeting expectations - I was encouraged by a very positive HiFi News review to buy them. Since I was looking for rather small speakers, my expectations weren't towards getting great bass extension but rather, given positive review more details and precision. Unfortunately I got all opposite. Well not really. Bass was extending low but for only selective frequencies making impression that regardless of the type of music or a song, it sounded the same. Boxy, excessive, hiding all the remaining frequency bands. Other big issue was complete lack of details and air. I knew they were new pair of speakers with not enough hours of warm up, but even on the very beginning they should at least try to present some scene details, air, echoes. But none of it happened. The sound was flat with no signs of musicality. I am pretty sure that at this price tag, you can surely get a much better product. I decided to return the speakers and be more careful with HiFi News reviews now as they are apparently biased. Review: Great quality for the price. - Very pleased with these Wharfedale speakers. They were a replacement for 25 year old Goodmans speakers. Great value and quality. ## Features - Pair of 2-Way Shelf Speaker Bass Reflex 13cm Kevlar woofer - Sensitivity 87 dB, impedance 8 ohm, power 100 W - Color: Black ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B073XQJG7K | | Antenna Location | [For surround sound systems, For DVD players, For gaming consoles, For televisions, For music players] | | Audio Driver Size | 5.12 Inches | | Audio Driver Type | Dynamic Driver | | Audio Output Mode | Stereo | | Audio output mode | Stereo | | Brand | Wharfedale | | Brand Name | Wharfedale | | Colour | Black | | Compatible Devices | Laptop, Personal Computer, Projector, Smartphone, Tablet, Television | | Connectivity technology | CAVO | | Control Method | Touch | | Customer Package Type | FFP | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 19 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 05025941173496 | | Impedance | 8 Ohms | | Is Waterproof | True | | Item Type Name | Pair of Passive Shelf Boxes | | Item Weight | 7.3 Kilograms | | MP3 player | No | | Manufacturer | Wharfedale | | Maximum Speaker Output Power (in watts) | 100 Watts | | Model Name | D11.1B | | Model Number | D11.1B | | Model name | D11.1B | | Mounting Type | Tabletop | | Mounting type | Tabletop | | Network Connectivity Technology | CAVO | | Number of Audio Channels | 2.0 | | Number of Items | 2 | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Speaker Size | 5.12 Inches | | Speaker Type | Woofer | | Speaker maximum output power | 100 Watts | | Specific Uses For Product | Home entertainment systems | | Subwoofer Speaker Diameter | 13 Centimetres | | Tweeter Diameter | 2.5 Centimetres | | Woofer Driver Diameter | 5.12 Inches | ## Images ![Wharfedale D11.1B Pair of Passive Shelf Boxes, Black - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61ghiW2ddLL.jpg) ![Wharfedale D11.1B Pair of Passive Shelf Boxes, Black - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51mCz9UkU9L.jpg) ![Wharfedale D11.1B Pair of Passive Shelf Boxes, Black - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61zYJPWE3-L.jpg) ![Wharfedale D11.1B Pair of Passive Shelf Boxes, Black - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51Ly-GNHYIL.jpg) ![Wharfedale D11.1B Pair of Passive Shelf Boxes, Black - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61IsCSCwRDL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐ Not meeting expectations *by R***8 on 23 February 2018* I was encouraged by a very positive HiFi News review to buy them. They were a replacement for 25 year old Goodmans speakers. Great value and quality. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Aller guten Dinge... *by L***K on 18 February 2020* sind Drei! --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/48641627-wharfedale-d11-1b-pair-of-passive-shelf-boxes-black](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/48641627-wharfedale-d11-1b-pair-of-passive-shelf-boxes-black) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-25*
