They stop the balls of wool getting tangled with each other. Would like them to be a bit bigger so I could get more wool on each one but they save a lot of hassle.

A: They are 17/8" diameter and the centre of the spool s a good 1/4" deep. They are an excellent product and this is my second batch. Invaluable for beadwork. Good luck

**Q: I'm looking for something to wind 10m of 1mm thread. Would these be big enough?**
A: in theory the answer is yes, I use them on a kumihimo disc to hold the same type of threads for braiding . I hope that helps
