What range will this tester handle in DC amps?** A: no just ac clamp around wire **Q: if I, say, clamp a 120V AC lamp cord, will it measure amps correctly? What about a 220V pool pump motor? Thanks!** A: That 220vac motor will have a data plate that might say full load amps or something like that. Clamp hot wire somehow to get the best reading and if it's pulling higher amperage than what it's rated for, get a new motor. It should run below what it's rated for. As for the lamp, I can't imagine why you would need to check amp draw for that but this meter will do it brah... It's pretty accurate **Q: I need to measure volts, amps and hertz to adjust my generator. Does this model measure hertz?** A: NO. The meter is prefect, simple and easy to use, does all as expected and being a fluke it is a solid bit of gear. Came with adjustable leads, you can cover or uncover the metal pins at the end with a twist cap design, so you either have a log pin or a short one for the more tricky points of measurement where you run the risk of shorting out between connections.
