Review: 6 months in - all ok - I waited 6 months before reviewing. I fitted to a new door made from composite - so everything lined up and went in smoothly. The lock has not had a single fault or failure. The battery is showing as 50% its a heavily used door I have 10 fobs coded - they have never kept anyone out The app has always connected (it can take a few seconds between wifi and bluetooth) If I had any criticism its the lift to lock mechanism if you're not firm with it then you'll encounter the lock squealing whilst it tries to engage. If you have someone without the strength to ensure its properly lifted it might cause trouble for them. I could not get the proximity geofencing to work - but its not something I tried that hard with. Its way more convenient than keys. I would suggest keeping a 9v battery in your car, I also put one in the lockbox outside my house, wrapped in foam to protect from frost. I am going to wait for battery running out and use the emergency backup pp3 to ensure I can get in.

Performance of the lock: Fit is fine and no issues here at all, though getting it aligned to work with the mechanism was the reverse of the instructions for whatever reason so the motor now turns it properly. Solid design and appears to be reliable. That’s where the positivity ends though. So onto functionality. The lock automatically locks as soon as you lift the handle, not after 5 seconds as some reviews indicate, and this is confirmed with Yale support. So you cannot engage the multipoint lock at all without fully locking the door, this is a shame and could be a simple fix or option. Auto relock - this is the dumbest feature by far. If the lock is locked, and you select to unlock it either manually or on return home you have a window of opportunity to open the handle before it automatically locks again. So this is inconvenient if you are bringing shopping back or for whatever reason cannot open the door within a few seconds. Also things like lock on night and unlock in a morning are not a thing. Again this could have been added to the app and the functionality of the lock so easily, but again it is missing. Next thing is child safety, there’s just a thumb turn to unlock and this is a simple press and turn so a toddler can even unlock and get out. There’s no option to disable or make this any more difficult. You could argue this is a safety feature, but I’d argue the reverse as it’s not configurable in any way. 9/10 for design 3/10 functionality

**Q: What are the cost of the additional Mobile keys, and how easy are these to use/set up for non techy friends/family? Thanks! (Have android phone)**
A: You can use the same key-fobs on multiple doors so you don't need to buy more credits.  the only time you need more credits is if you need many key fobs.

**Q: When the Battery gets empty ( Vacation etc, ) you then logged out with no Key backup ?**
A: Yes. With no power in the batteries you are 'locked out'. However on the base of the handle are terminals to connect a normal square type battery. Simply connect a battery and this should give you enough power to allow the lock to operate. Yes the phone app gives you a read out of the battery levels but this is also audio / visual warnings on the lock.

You can use the RFID key tag, RFID key card or app to unlock the lock without additional equipment. 

If you want to link it to your home automation system you'll need to install the z-wave module like in my video above.

You can then unlock the lock from anywhere with the z-wave module and smart home integration.

I waited 6 months before reviewing. I fitted to a new door made from composite - so everything lined up and went in smoothly. The lock has not had a single fault or failure. The battery is showing as 50% its a heavily used door I have 10 fobs coded - they have never kept anyone out The app has always connected (it can take a few seconds between wifi and bluetooth) If I had any criticism its the lift to lock mechanism if you're not firm with it then you'll encounter the lock squealing whilst it tries to engage. If you have someone without the strength to ensure its properly lifted it might cause trouble for them. I could not get the proximity geofencing to work - but its not something I tried that hard with. Its way more convenient than keys. I would suggest keeping a 9v battery in your car, I also put one in the lockbox outside my house, wrapped in foam to protect from frost. I am going to wait for battery running out and use the emergency backup pp3 to ensure I can get in.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good sturdy door lock, but software is a bit flakey.

This was fairly easy to install. There is a good Yale video to take you step-by-step. I made the mistake of not lining up the actuator correctly, so had to dismantle and re-do the process, but got there in the end. The lock is a similar size on the outside to my previous lock, but noticeably bigger on the inside with the extended module and battery sections plus it's quite chunky. Setting up the lock wasn't too bad. However, I did struggle setting up the module and bridge. The app kept failing to connect to the module (even though I was right next to it) but it got there in the end. The biggest problem was connecting the bridge. I followed the instructions and it consistently kept failing to connect to Wi-Fi. I am an IT professional and no matter what I tried, I could not get it to connect. I eventually realised that the bridge DOES NOT CONNECT TO 5GHz WI-FI. My phone was connected to our home Wi-Fi and the 5GHz signal. I presume the app uses your phone's connection to configure the bridge. So I disabled the 5GHz Wi-Fi on my home router (so now only the 2.4Ghz was broadcasting) and it worked! I am surprised this issue isn't more common. Hopefully, if someone else experiences this issue, then disabling 5GHz might resolve it. I re-enabled 5GHz once the setup had completed and all is fine. So overall, a well made piece of hardware, let down a little by the software. It is great to not have to worry about carrying around or remembering my keys any more.
