Do not buy, just buy packing tape to do the same job ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not Suitable for Wood Windowsills *by R***S on September 10, 2023* Overall, the product works fine on doors. Although paint did peel away from the door in question, it would be easy to paint over. We actually bought the product to protect wood windowsills that have a very light finish - the house is a rental and I wanted to protect the sills from our dogs. The previous renter left several scratches and stains from planters and cat claws and our big dogs are definitely much harder on the sills, even though they've only put paws on them once or twice. Installation was a little frustrating, as the stiffness of the roll made it difficult to line up with an edge while unrolling, and the adhesion is strong enough that uninstalling will definitely leave both door and sill surfaces in need of a significant touch-up. The test strip on the windowsill immediately pulled up finish and actual wood - it is probably a softer wood, but anyone hoping to protect a rental's wooden windowsills should not use this product - you'll just be repairing the damage done by the protector before you move out, and other DIY solutions will be less work in that regard. 4/5 stars: the product works as intended, and does protect doors from big paws, at least in a short period of time. We don't have excessive scratchers so I can't speak to how well it would hold up against an agitated dog actively pawing a door multiple times a day.
