**Q: width of braces??**
A: The braces are 48mm (1 7/8") wide. This is an excellent product.

**Q: CAn't tell from the photo, will they attach to Stihl trousers without alteration?**
A: Hello John D,
Oregon 537804 Braces have buttons holes which are designed to attach to buttons on Oregon trousers.
Not sure if the buttons are located in the same place on the Sthil trousers, if at all.
Alternatively you could try Oregon's Logger Braces 562411 (see link below), which have metal clips instead of buttons. These are designed to fit ALL trousers.

**Q: will they fit a pair of husqvarna chaps?**
A: My braces lasted about 2 months, my wife stitched them a few times, but I gave up with them and now use a belt! No idea if they'll fit Husqvarna chaps, or is that chaps from Husqvarna?! Sorry, I wouldn't bother

**Q: would they go round the belt loop?**
A: No - the leather ends button on to trousers with 6 buttons sewn in at 4 positions (2 either side at the front and 2 centre back - these are the trousers I use with the braces:

You could sew the 6 buttons on any trousers though but have to be strong thread and button fit through the holes on the braces end-straps.

You will definitely need these if you have chainsaw trousers. The last thing you want while handling a chainsaw if for your trousers sliding down.I've seen a few reviews where the suede buttonhole piece ripped. But not in my case. I was however wary when first putting them on not to over strain them so slackened them off to guarantee to keep it all at the right tension. After that, once adjusted, they've been perfect.
