Then I realized that I had to recharge the batteries every other day. It kinda made the Christmas tree into a chore. This year I bought these guys. 2 packs is enough to really light up my 3' tree. The lights are way brighter than the battery kind, and the colors are nice. No burn outs yet, but they give you spare bulbs. Cord is long enough to get you out from under the tree, so your extension cord isn't right in the picture. Nice low tech solution.
