What's more, you can't write on same page after you pressed scan (to add more) because it thinks it's a new page. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really Good Product *by J***B on 23 April 2020* I use this Tablet for online tutoring and I'm really happy with it. I saw someone else using it so I decided to try it and its actually exceeded my expectations at every turn. What appears on screen is amazingly faithful to the actual written page even tiny details and I haven't noticed the detail in the output depreciating at all even through 20, 30 or even more pages which seems incredible! It can use any paper too. The working area is fully A4. You can write pages one at a time on the pad and then transfer to the app or use it standalone without any idevice and the pages are stored on the device. However I use it in the Live Mode which is perfect for me as the output appears on screen in real time so my students can see it as I write and this is how I use it. The pages are automatically saved on the Inkspace app as I work. I don't know if previous reviewers were using an older version of the app but I've found it works really well so far. You can just keep pressing the tablet button and generating new pages which are stored in the library and can be saved into groups later. They can be converted singly or several at a time to desired format later pdf, svg or jpg and airdropping to your laptop immediately. The Inkspace app which is free to sign up to online is intuitive and has some really cool features like editing the pages afterwards or even merging two pages which can be very useful. I wasn't convinced of the whole cloud thing when I decided to buy but I see now it is a good way to do and it doesn't cause any problems and in fact has solved some. You can also log onto your Inkspace account through a normal web browser too rather than the iOS app so you can go through the pages on your laptop.There is also now a mac app version of inkspace, I don't think it's quite as good a the iPad version yet but no doubt it will get better so I stick to the iPad version. Another feature I like is the Split feature. Quite often I forget to press the button and start a new page this means I end up overwriting one page with another but with the split function you can rewind the pages to split out the overwritten bits and then save/delete, brilliant. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice device - Quite easy to use - Took ages for syncing *by C***E on 22 April 2020* I've got my new Bamboo slate today, after returning a used one (was sent to me by mistake). Have to say the service of Amazon is fab. A small review about my new toy.Pros: Look cool. Quite comfortable to write on. Fully charging is fast. The pen works fine (I was afraid of accidentally twisting while using, but actually, the pen twisting is not that easy) with good quality. The papers are aligned by dots, so it's quite handy for drawing graphs and schema.Con: The syncing between the app and device took ages, at least 20-30 mins I say. In the beginning, I thought it was broken, but turned out it was just slow. The INK-to-text function didn't work well, so I had to contact WACOM support. There might be an error while I downloaded the app, so had to reinstall the app.Note: Unlike many reviews about WACOM bad customer service, my experience with this company is quite good. I used live chat twice and the customer assistant were greatly supportive and solve my problems.Update: After a while, my Ink-to-text function finally works. Turned out that I just needed to switch on the function “Sync over cellular in Inkspace (General -> Inkspace-> Sync over cellular). Enjoy. ### ⭐ Save your money - very poor design. *by A***R on 7 April 2018* Would give a negative number of stars if I could.What's right about this device? I can't think of anything right now.I have been looking for years for some way of writing notes on ordinary paper and having an automatic electronic copy made.Years ago I used a Genius G-Note 7100 (2008), this device far out strips the Folio despite being completely out of date (it came with two pens, red and black). I make purely digital handwritten notes on my Galaxy Note 4 and my Galaxy Note Pro Tablets, the ink doesn't run out with the My Script Stylus app installed, text recognition is ok (though it does seem to 'unlearn', i.e. it gets worse over time). The inconvenience of switching backwards and forwards between MyScript and the standard Samsung keyboard is what really stops me using this.But what I really want to do is to write on paper. Writing on paper helps me think, and aids my thought process. But I need to be able to take some or all of my notes and access them on the PC. To include them in other documents and to be able to refer back to them and archive them. I have in the past scanned my handwritten notes, but text recognition is iffy at best.So to the Folio.Build quality is good, the included writing pad is of excellent (to good) quality. The pen is a bit large and uncomfortable to use to my mind.The first major problem is that the Folio requires an external device, a phone or a tablet, it has, seemingly, no accessible memory of its own.The idea is that you download and install an app on your phone or tablet, connect with the Folio over Bluetooth and away you go. You write away on the Folio, the indicator goes from Green to Blue to indicate that there is data in the page, when you finish the page the data is synched with the app on the phone and the indicator goes green.Well that's the idea anyway. The problem is if the Bluetooth connection is lost or the phones battery dies, then there is no indication that your page did not synchronise. There doesn't appear to be any way of retrieving pages which have supposedly synchronised but didn't. With this set up you always have two batteries to worry about (warnings given in the two (very small) pages of instructions imply that you cannot charge while connected to a phone via blue tooth). With this set up it also appears that the device itself can only store one page at a time (the G-Note had an SD card which could store as many pages as allowed by the size of the card).The use of this product is severely limited by very poor design. By the fact that it doesn't seem to be able to link directly to a PC and by the fact that it looses pages so easily.When the battery on the phone dies, or if the blue tooth connection is lost the Folio becomes a brick (a worthless weight that is simply a burden).Very expensive waste of money.I would be happy for someone to point out solutions to these issues, this review is my first take on this product.
