Review: Battery good, desertcart better - when i got a slick little cordless dremel tool for christmas, i loved it for about 20 minutes at a time, then its battery wore down and had to be recharged. not good if you want to use it for your work rather than as just a toy! so immediately ordered a second battery from desertcart, so one could be charging while i used the other. it was a sad disappointment to discover that the new battery had almost no power and couldn't hold a charge at all! that's the bad news. the good news is that i returned it to desertcart and had a new one within a few days. the new one works fine, the return process was fast and easy, and once again desertcart proves why so many of us prefer it to any other online shopping site. this is more an desertcart review than a review of the product... but the battery is as advertised, and now i can work much longer at a stretch. thanks, desertcart! Review: Does NOT fit older 770 Type 1 - It looked like it would fit. It has almost the same model number (757-01 vs 757 for the older 770 Type 1), but it don't fit. Unfortunately, the older version hasn't been made for a long time now, so if you have an older 770 Type 1 like I do, you are out of luck unless you can find one on Ebay (I couldn't; full kits are available, but I just wanted the battery). Anyway, I can't give a bad rating just because I ordered the wrong battery, sooo... It is a very pretty battery, although it is all black (unlike the blue/black version in the picture). The latches on the side are supple enough not to frustrate when inserting and removing, yet of sufficient rigidity for solid purchase. The plastic is quite smooth, and at first glance would seem slippery if ones hands were wet or covered in blood, yet the ski-boot shape of the unit provides for a very sure and comfortable grip. You are not going to drop this baby! Although the battery I received is all black, it displays its powerful nature with confidence as it sits on my shelf... alone, even though it is completely bereft of charge (for I have no charger with which to charge it). This is very commendable, as it likely has contemplated a future without purpose. A brave front in the face of complete obsolescence even before it has experienced its first charge. Very commendable, indeed. Perhaps some pinstriping and flames would stem its sadness for a while. To get full power, I may have to jiggle it so all the contacts are made. That fault I believe is with the powered unit, not the battery. I have yet to try to pull the tabs out a bit for solid contact. But when I have t well seated, I'm very happy.
