Lath self-tapping screws?** A: I would use pop rivets with FENDER washers. **Q: Can I safely use this to line the cabinet space for the dishwasher to dampen the sound?** A: Yes, as long as you have enough clearance. **Q: Will this work for under rug? I live in an apartment** A: You would need to cover the entire floor (wall to wall) with MLV for it to be effective. **Q: If I stick this to my wall, will it block the noise I make from the other side of the wall?** A: Not entirely sure, but one would think it would. Sound is vibrations in the air and this material absorbs the vibrations so you would think it will work both ways. ## Frequently Bought Together - Soundsulate™ 1 lb Mass Loaded Vinyl MLV, Soundproofing Barrier 4 x 10' (40 sf) - Made in USA - Click for Options - UberQuiet MLV Cap Nails, 1-inch, for Installation of Mass-Loaded Vinyl Noise Barriers, Small (250 pcs) - Premium Quality MLV Seam Tape, Installation Tape for Mass-Loaded Vinyl Noise Barriers 6 Mil - Highly Effective Soundproofing Solution - 1.5" x 108 (1) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/49567961-soundsulate-next-generation-1-lb-mass-loaded-vinyl-mlv-soundproofing](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/49567961-soundsulate-next-generation-1-lb-mass-loaded-vinyl-mlv-soundproofing) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-31*
