The Magnum Strike Force 8.0 is an 8 inch waterproof side-zip uniform boot built for police, security and other duty personnel who need dependable footwear for long shifts on their feet. A YKK side zip lets the boot go on and off quickly without loosening the lace fit, while the durable waterproof leather upper is paired with hard-wearing, breathable mesh panels to keep the boot manageable in weight. A waterproof and breathable bootie membrane keeps feet dry in wet conditions, and Magnum ExoGel technology around the ankle collar absorbs impact on uneven ground while remaining flexible in normal wear. Underfoot, a compression-moulded RECOIL midsole cushions every step and supports the foot through a full patrol, and the Michelin outsole - developed using the same rubber compounds as Michelin Power Rain and Pilot Alpin tyres - gives high-traction, slip and oil resistant grip on wet and greasy surfaces. The treads on this version are actually made by Michellin tyres, used to be Vibram soles on a few previous models I had, these boots will seriously stay comfortable all day. Also no cut heels with this version, it's one of the big reasons I pick Magnums. Still best worn with a proper hiking or boot sock too, so recommend getting one size up on the boot. If you're on your feet all day, need to protect your feet for work or are looking for the best pair of hiking boots you'll ever find, try these. Had these boots for about 3 years now for every day use and still going strong. I work in a dangerous environment and the high ankle support and hard toe caps have saved my feet from injury quite a few times, also very water resistant if you keep up good maintenance with polish etc. They can take a while to break in and they will make your feet sore at first, but once you've broken them in they'll be very comfy. I'd suggest getting them with insoles if you wear them for everyday work, makes a big difference.
