Our bed is one huge heavy mattress on a board cover with material. This was the how it was purchased. Not like the old box springs. It helps me tuck the sheets because I can. Not lift my mattress high enough to cover the corner. Good luck. **Q: Will this work on a mattress with a lip that holds the matress in?** A: You wouldn't be able to tuck the sheet under the mattress. You would only be tucking it down beside the lip. **Q: Can it be used for tucking in fitted sheets?** A: Yes, that is the primary reason I purchased it.
