I had to remove the code from the receiver & then once I found the sound I liked, I had to hold the receiver button down for about 4 seconds in order for it to accept the code. I do like that there is no battery. The design flaw is that it doesn't really look like a doorbell. I wish they had made the design on the front have a 1 inch rounded edge square so that the person knows where to "push." Also the stickers included say, "Please Push Doorbell," but I don't want the neighbor kids to come & push my doorbell for fun. The sticker should just say "Doorbell" Overall, it's a good design, but it needs a "button look" on the front of the doorbell, to make it clear that it is a doorbell.
