I can play by myself (I play 3 people, so the game moves along, and it is SO MUCH FUN.) I love Buffy and this is just perfect. The game mechanics are typical for deck-building games. Board Game Geek (website) has a rules/questions forum that will clarify any issues that come up in play, if you have them. I think I've played about 1000 times since I bought this in the summer and I am still not bored. Every game is different, every time is different. There are so many combos that you cannot possibly do them all. I did sleeve the cards (Dragon Shield) because I was playing so much and didn't want to ruin the game. I would add dice to keep track of certain numbers that come up that are part of play, but anyone who buys this game should have dice in their house, so no big deal. In summary: if you love Buffy and love deck-building, then this is the game for you! Review: Fun game with minor mistakes - I found this game fun and fairly easy to play EXCEPT FOR THE SUGGESTED FIRST GAME SET-UP. Also, there are typos and misspellings in the instructions, cards, and game mat. Weird thing for what seems to be an otherwise well thought out game with high-quality components. The game has a random set-up and I think certain combinations are impossible and some are too easy. The mat is nice (-typos) and the game has plenty of variety and nastalga. ## Features - 500 total card set; full color game mat; full color rule book - This is a stand alone deck building game - Card inserts for easy organization - Item Package Dimension: 9.0" L x 24.0" W x 37.0" H ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B072Q69YY1 | | Age Range Description | 168 months to 10000 months | | Best Sellers Rank | #234,337 in Toys & Games ( See Top 100 in Toys & Games ) #5,465 in Board Games (Toys & Games) | | Brand Name | Upper Deck | | Color | Red, Blue, and White | | Container Type | Box | | Customer Package Type | Standard Packaging | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 263 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00053334867337 | | Included Components | 500 Playable Cards, Game Mat and Rule Book | | Item Dimensions | 10 x 4 x 15 inches | | Item Dimensions L x W | 24"L x 24"W | | Item Type Name | Buffy Deck Building Game | | Item Weight | 1.95 kg | | Manufacturer | UPPJ9 - pallet ordering | | Manufacturer Part Number | 86733 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | No Warranty | | Manufacturer recommended age | 14 years and up | | Material Type | Cardboard, Cardstock, Paper, Vinyl | | Model Name | Legendary Encounters | | Model Number | 86733 | | Number of Items | 502 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Players | 5 | | Operation Mode | manual | | Other Special Features of the Product | Card Inserts for easy organization | | Package Quantity | 1 | | Product Style | Modern | | Set Name | Buffy the Vampire Slayer | | Size | Medium | | Sub Brand | Fox | | Subject Character | buffy_vampire | | Theme | Game | | UPC | 053334867337 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Images ![Upper Deck Legendary: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 168 months to 10000 months - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61Vgum6WyCL.jpg) ![Upper Deck Legendary: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 168 months to 10000 months - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/919ng2tOxuL.jpg) ![Upper Deck Legendary: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 168 months to 10000 months - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91KM1FcSI5L.jpg) ![Upper Deck Legendary: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 168 months to 10000 months - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91Ir3+k2g7L.jpg) ![Upper Deck Legendary: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 168 months to 10000 months - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/917at2aGH-L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is this compatible with marvel legendary?** A: It should be a bit. The characters have recruit and attack like in Legendary but card effects sometimes mention the light and dark and since thats not in marvel legendary I doubt certain effects would. Icm now tempted to try though. **Q: If i want to sleeve the cards do i use standard size card sleeves?** A: Yes use Standard Card Game sleeves (2-1/2" x 3-1/2" - 63.5 x 88mm). **Q: Blank cards in this bored game** A: The blank cards are to save on the production costs, it's cheaper for them to have blank spacer cards so everything fits into standard sized wrapped-packs. The Marvel Legendary games have cards in packs of 100, some of the expansions have 40+ blank cards, a 350 card set rounding up to fill 4x 100 packs. I don't have Legendary: Buffy, but all the Marvel products have a card count list in the instructions. Just make sure that you're not missing any cards based on that list and you should be fine. Throw away the blanks or use them to make your own custom cards. **Q: Hi folks, is this a stand alone game?** A: Totally. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I'm absolutely OBSESSED *by B***A on December 13, 2018* I love this game. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good game. *by K***. on January 15, 2018* Game is a little involved and takes a little getting used to (even if you're already a fan of the Legendary series) but it's a lot of fun and has a lot of really fun references for fans of the show, but can also be fun for those who have never seen a single episode (we've played with both). The game board itself is different than the other titles I've played, as instead of being a folded cardboard, its a rolled up mat that feels kind of like old school mouse pads. At first i thought this was lame but it quickly grew on me and I'd actually welcome more hame boards of the same style. All and all it is very well done and I love it. ## Frequently Bought Together - Upper Deck Legendary: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, 168 months to 10000 months - Upper Deck Legendary Encounters: X-Files Deck Building Game Multi, small - Legendary: Encounters: The Matrix Deck Building Game --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/49858996-upper-deck-legendary-buffy-the-vampire-slayer-168-months-to](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/49858996-upper-deck-legendary-buffy-the-vampire-slayer-168-months-to) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
