The Nitecore P23i flashlight has a maximum output of 3000 lumens from the Luminus SFT-70 LED

Review: Costosa ma di qualità. - La P23i è definita torcia “tattica”, quindi ha i comandi nella parte posteriore. È interamente in metallo (alluminio molto spesso), e impermeabile fino a due metri (IPX8). Ha dimensioni molto compatte ma è abbastanza pesante (circa 200gr con la batteria), ..portandola in tasca il peso si sente. Ha due comandi: tasto on/off e tasto mode, soluzione comoda in quanto attraverso quest’ultimo, a luce accesa, si può variare la luminosità in qualsiasi momento, senza dover spegnere e riaccendere, come capita con molti modelli con comando unico. Inoltre il tasto on/off se premuto parzialmente (senza scattare) accende la luce e la spegne rilasciandolo, cosa che può essere comoda per fare segnalazioni (dato che non ha la funzione SOS). Non ha la regolazione del focus, ma emette un doppio fascio luminoso: uno molto concentrato e uno più ampio, non bellissimo perché rimane un po’ disturbato dall’ombra delle tre punte del frangi-vetro (v. foto). I livelli di luminosità sono 50, 250, 800 e 1.500 Lumen, oltre al turbo da 3.000 Lm, e si possono selezionare due modalità: normale e tattica. Quest’ultima non ha il livello High (1.500 Lm) ma può mantenere fisso il turbo, mentre in modalità normale il turbo si attiva solo tenendo premuto il tasto mode e si disattiva rilasciandolo. Al livello turbo però la testa della torcia in pochi secondi arriva ad una temperatura molto alta, fino a scottare (come su tutte le torce compatte). Non ho fatto la prova ma, tenendolo fisso, non credo che ci voglia molto prima che il sensore di temperatura abbassi la potenza. In sostanza il turbo va usato solo per brevi intervalli. C’è da dire però che il fascio luminoso centrale arriva a distanze veramente incredibili, e già ai livelli più bassi la luce arriva a una bella distanza. In aggiunta è disponibile la funzione Strobo, molto efficace (cioè fastidiosa) e facilmente attivabile sia con luce accesa che spenta. Se si trasporta in zaini o borse va considerato che le punte frangi-vetro hanno tre piccole sfere di nitruro di silicio e possono graffiare il vetro. Quindi occorre fare un po’ di attenzione che non entrino in contatto, ad es., con schermi di telefoni o tablet. In ogni caso viene fornito anche un fodero in cordura, che ha attacchi per cintura o tracolla (non compresa). In conclusione, premesso che per mia scelta non ho preso in considerazione le decine di prodotti di marchi poco conosciuti, che promettono potenze stratosferiche a pochi euro (..e che quasi sempre nei Lumen dichiarati gli sfugge qualche zero di troppo), direi che nella sua categoria è sicuramente un modello molto valido, anche se piuttosto costoso. Volendo, secondo me, si può prendere in considerazione, a seconda delle esigenze, anche la P20ix. È molto simile ma emette un fascio di luce più ampio ed uniforme, che però ovviamente arriva meno in profondità.
