Review: Excellent product. - Fits 2017 Giant Contend SL like a glove. I bought these with a little trepidation after reading the reviews and watching the odd video. It seemed like a stab in the dark on whether or not they’d fit. Well if you have the clearance specified you are in. As for difficulty fitting, there isn’t any in my opinion. All it takes is a little bit of time and proper prep. The Velcro will not detach as long as you prep the surface correctly and allow it to adhere. I was really surprised at how well these things went on. It’s as if they were custom made for my bike. I only had to ‘tweak’ the rear guard with two cable ties in order to pull it right a little (purely aesthetic). This was due to the bikes frame geometry. The fitting took me about an hour, may seem like a long time, but it’s best to take your time! My old summer bike is now my new winter bike. Top product, highly recommended. Lightweight and aesthetically pleasing addition for bikes with no fixings for traditional guards.
Review: A good set of mudguards if you have limited frame clearance. - I use my 2008 Specialized Roubaix Elite for winter and touring. It's been adorned with various mudguards over the years, including the earlier version of these. I'll start with the good points and then some suggestions on fitting. They fit well, plenty of coverage and give good clearance from the tyre. The plastic is pretty stiff but gives enough flexibility for fitment. I particularly like the flair of the rear guard near the front mech to give it some protection. The new fittings are similar to stickle bricks, the frame fitting is stuck on and the mudguard fitting is pressed onto it. Nice and simple. So, fitting wise, never expect any mudguards to fit straight out of the box, especially if your bike was never designed for them. A certain amount of fettling is required to get a satisfactory fit. The Front guards went on quite easily, the stickle brick/velcro fittings allow you to find the correct position without tools. The extension piece at the front under the brake is double sided taped on. I added some glue (flexible 2-part adhesive) here for good measure to add a bit of strength. Top tip - the kit comes with some alcohol wipes to clean the frame/forks to adhere the stickle brick/velcro fittings. Make sure after cleaning that it's completely dry before fitting them or the adhesive will dissolve and they won’t stick properly. My frame and forks are very narrow around the brakes, so to stop interference between the top inside of the forks and the mudguard, I went to town on it with my multi tool to grind it narrower. This then gave enough clearance. The kit also comes with some small self-adhesive silicon pads to fit in these locations to prevent frame damage. Rear mudguard, again I had to make it narrower around the brake and apply the pads. The front extension needs to be cut to length. Easy enough, install the back section, take out the wheel, offer up the front extension and mark the desired length. There is a reusable tie wrap that fits the front section to the downtube. Two positions are on offer so pick the appropriate one. When it is tightened it will pull the mudguard up a bit, so bear this in mind when cutting the length. There is a supplied plastic nut and bolt to join the two sections, but again I glued it together as well. Make sure the adhesive is flexible when cured. Biggest problem was the angle of the rear frame which meant that when the mudguard was installed in the correct position, only about half of the frame mounts were in contact, see the picture. Now, the roads around here are as smooth as a cattle grid with pot holes so I was rather concerned if there was sufficient contact area and the mudguard could possibly vibrate loose. Out comes the tie wraps. I put some protective tape on the frame and secured the fittings with the tie wraps, not excessively tight, but enough to keep the contact area secure. I done the same to the front mudguard. The front of the mudguard near the bottom bracket I cut a little too short. I resolved this by putting a “skirt” of black electrical tape around the mudguard edge, so giving it the required extension. This error on my part proved to be a blessing as it allowed me to tuck the “skirt” in between the chain stays, improving the protection for that area and preventing any frame wear. In summary, I think they are pretty good mudguards. For the frame type, my options are limited - but 200miles later I’ve had no issues and haven’t got wet and covered in dirt on the country roads.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for Road Bikes with Disc Brakes. Best Mudguards I have ever had.
*by A***N on 7 November 2018*

I read mixed reviews of these. Having owned the Mk2 Crud's I thought I would give them a go. They are brilliant - Very clear instructions on the inside of the box. No bits of paper to blow away when fitting them outside. I would wash/degrease your bike first and remove any oil or residue first, so the heavy duty Velco sticks. There some alcohol wipes in the box, which help remove any remaining dirt or grease. I have a Cannondale with discs and I had lots of space for fitting them. I was a bit sceptical about the Velco, but it sticks really well to the frame stays and so far no slips. I found it a bit fiddly to get the guards in the right position. I recommend using a bike stand so you can turn the wheels. I had both front and back installed in less than 15 minutes. I have used them a couple of times in the wet and they were amazing. I had a dry bum both times. Liking them so much, I have bought another pair for my other bike.
