The Jonard FOD-2000 fibre optic drop cable slitter cuts slits in the end or mid-span in 0.250" flat drop fibre optic cables. The cable slitter cuts both sides of the cable to provide access to the fibre or strength member. The slitter can be used to cut mid-spans. Review: Not really that good. - Not really impressed. The blade goes dull quite fast. Mine stopped working after the 30-40 cables. Paying that amount of money you would expect something that lasts for a while. I know you can replace the blade, which is an extra headache... Plastic feels cheap, it squeaks all the time I am opening it. I think I'll go for a Chinese version next time.
Review: excellent fiber jacked stripper - I'm currently using this for stripping the outer jacket of fibre optic aerial, and burial drop lines. It cuts the outer jacket away very easily which is probably not surprising becuase the blades in it are fresh. I'm sure somewhere down the line I will have to replace the cutting blades on it but for now it works like a dream.

I'm currently using this for stripping the outer jacket of fibre optic aerial, and burial drop lines.
