## Description

The Yale Assure Lock 2 is a Wi-Fi smart deadbolt lock built for the way you actually live. Touchscreen keypad on the outside. Full remote control on the inside. No Wi-Fi hub or bridge required. This digital door lock connects directly to your 2.4 or 5 GHz home network, giving you complete control with the free Yale Access App. Lock up, let a dog walker in, or get instant alerts the moment someone opens the door—whether you're upstairs or three time zones away. The touchscreen makes code entry easy in any lighting, and unlimited codes let you share access with family, guests, or service providers. Set schedules, expiration dates, and track every entry from your phone. Auto-Unlock senses when you're home and opens hands-free. DoorSense® detects when the door closes and this automatic door lock secures it behind you. No second-guessing, no walking back to check. Fits most standard doors 1-3/4" to 2-1/4" thick with a 2-1/8" bore hole and 4" minimum center-to-center spacing between the deadbolt and knob. Grade 2 certified and built to operate from -22°F to 140°F, it'll protect your home for years to come.

Review: Works well - I need to redo the calibration on the door position sensor, it constantly switches back and forth.
Review: worst smartlock on the market - I was reluctant to buy a lock without a key but was assured by Yale that these locks are very reliable and I shouldn't be concerned. Two weeks after getting several of these locks, one jammed and had to be forced open. Luckily I had access from the inside in this case. I called Yale to express my concern that I was told this "never happens" yet had EXACTLY what I feared happen in a couple of weeks. This new rep told me I should never install a key-free lock on a room with only one door in case the lock fails, exactly the OPPOSITE advice I'd received from them previously. So I had to return all the locks and reinstall the version with a key, wasting a substantial amount of time. Within a week, I had to start replacing batteries in multiple locks. It often takes upwards of 90 seconds to add or delete a user, and frequently fails and has to be redone. The tamper alarms go off regularly even though nobody has tampered with them. The battery pack is dumb, like a 1980's kid's toy where you have to thread a ribbon behind to get batteries out, or find a screwdriver. Every time I call tech support, I get a runaround or blamed for installing things wrong (which they ultimately confirm is not the case). Getting connected with a supervisor is virtually impossible, and the development team apparently needs to review every issue. I've sent photos, screen recordings, etc. to get the same nonsense answers over and again. In one instance, after waiting for a supervisor call back for a couple of days (which they won't schedule), I got a call at 830p on a Sunday night from a "spam risk" number that turned out to be Yale, followed by an email telling me "they tried". Another time, they sent an email saying they hadn't heard from me and were considering the issue resolved, when I was actually waiting on a call back from them. Finally, after weeks of back and forth, I spoke with Omar who seemed to actually have some understanding of the technology. The solution he proposed was unacceptable--to add wifi bridges to each lock and/or reconfigure my mesh network. He told me "it says on the box" that they only work with 2.4GHz which isn't quite the same as saying "doesn't work with mesh", not to mention there is NOTHING about not working with mesh on their site or in the install pdf. I've had Kwikset locks in another location for 3+ years, and while they're not perfect, I certainly haven't had to fix them or call tech support daily.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does auto unlock work with multiple users?**
A: Yes it will work for the owners of the home but only on one lock. So we recommend that you have Auto-Unlock enabled on the door that you use the most for entering your home. Auto-Lock will work regardless of who is leaving and will work on all doors - its an optional setting. Hope that helps!

**Q: Hello! Does it connect to WiFi on its own, or it needs a hub?**
A: Hi! This lock includes the Yale Wi-Fi Smart Module so it will connect directly to you home's Wi-Fi network (requires 2.4Ghz) without an additional hub required.

**Q: Is this compatible with the Ring app? I saw a comment from a couple of days ago saying it doesnt**
A: Hi! Our Yale Assure Lock 2 with Z-Wave is compatible with the Ring Alarm. But a Ring Alarm is required. This lock, the Yale Assure Lock 2 with Wi-Fi is not currently compatible with Ring.

**Q: Can I set auto re-lock time shorter than 30 sec? For example, 5 sec or immediately?**
A: Instant, 10s, 30s, 1m, 1:30m........

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So handy not to have to fumble with keys in the dark.

Love this. Love it, love it, love it! This was very easy to install; if you've installed a deadbolt, you can install this. Took about 45 minutes to install and program. The phone service was very helpful and I didn't have to wait for an hour for someone to pick up. Only downsides are (1) you have to download an application to your cell phone (one more company tracking your movements, your internet, and phone use), and you may be out of luck if you don't have a smart phone. Second downside is that the wi-fi module isn't very sensitive - the unit in our detached garage does not pick up our wi-fi signal, even though the wi-fi router is in the closest room to the garage, so you lose the features that require wi-fi (primarily remote unlocking through the app). I'm going to try a wi-fi range extender, and if that doesn't work, a wi-fi mesh network, with a repeater out in the garage. Hopefully that will fix it. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with this.
