As stated by many other reviewers, these items are designed for short fat people.I read the reviews, and despite being a 33 inch waist, took my wide hips and athletic legs into account, and bought the 36-38 inch waist "large".So I now have thermals with a baggy waist, but which barely fit on the thighs and calves, and also as stated by others, are annoyingly short - in fact after a regular cool wash, are now so short they go mid calf, and slide upwards. - And that's on a 31-32 inch leg measurement. So the advertised picture is actually FALSE - hence I just reduced this from 3 to 2 *-As to 'are they warm?' - they help a little bit, though in one bit of wind, were not totally wind blockers.But being so tight, they aren't really comfortable.=(overall a pair of chinos under the work trousers works better when it's more cold and windy)

Review of 5 Star Long Johns, Black Charcoal. XXL.I wear XL. I purchased XXL after reading reviews saying they are too short and tight in the calf area. They are too short and a bit tight in the calf area! Also, they hang loose in the crotch (maybe because they are a size too big.). Even if I push the waist down to my waist, they are still short. Need pants underneath to avoid fallout.If you have short, skinny legs and a big butt, these are for you. I paid under £3 per pair. I guess they are OK value at that.

For the price (less than £3 inc postage from seller Truefaceuk) I wasn't expecting too much. However, I was really surprised at how warm they are and how well they fit. I am a 32-34 waist and a large fitted perfectly. No button on the fly but not bothered at all, in fact that makes it easier! Really great service and item.Highly recommended.EDIT: 2 March: I wore these in Hastings over the weekend, outside in low temperatures with 30-40mph wind. I didn't feel the wind on my legs at all and was very impressed how good they were. So still recommend these without reservation.

We looked at the size chart and ordered the size suggested - they wouldn't pull up over my husband's calf muscles. We sent then back, but had to pay postage. We ordered the bigger size, but they too are on the small size. He's using these but would prefer the bigger ones still. He's using these rather than pay for the return. Other than that, the quality and delivery time was fine.

I ordered XL, one size up from my usual, as recommended for "Asian" sizing. Waist and seat are ok. But the leg inseam is ridiculously short, measured at just 65cm (26in). More like 3/4 crop length than full length, hence too tight at the ankle. Colour rubs off on hands, probably need to wash separately before wearing. Otherwise quality fair given the price paid under £4.

As mentioned in my previous review for the medium size I re ordered (again from the same supplier (TRUEFACEUK) this time large. Again they arrived within 3 working days and after one wash they are perfect. I would also like to add that if you are on the small side of medium then probably medium will do but I am 33 waist and average height and I found medium to be too short in the leg and crotch too low so if you are 5ft 10 inch upwards (height not crotch lol) I advise the large after a machine wash.

warm, comfy, not itchy, easy to get on and off (ie. not too tight in ankle) and seem to wash well. But just slightly short in the leg which means crotch is just slightly low (man of 6 foot 1inch, 1.85m)

(GENUINE REVIEWS ONLY HERE - shame on you who sell themselves for the price of a cheap product!)Ummmmmmmmmmm there long johns..........I resent the fact that I am now over 40 and like them............bought a few different brands as its always hit and miss with this stuff.... The waist is the same width as the hips so they fall down slightly.That being said they dont itch and quite comfortable to sleep in...For less than £3 delivered its worth it.
