## Description

Perforated land drain filter sock sleeve Perforated land drain filter sleeve prevents the unwanted sand and silt particles from entering and clogging perforated drainage pipes. It is recommended for the protection of all underground drainage systems in all soil types. It is particularly suited for use in sandy and silty soil conditions. The durable knit construction is seamless and can be used as a filter envelope to cover various types of perforated drainage materials including straight wall and corrugated HDPE, steel, aluminium and PVC pipes. It is a low cost and time saving alternative to backfilling with expensive, heavy, and sometimes hard to find granular backfill materials. The specially knit fabric allows very fine soil particles to pass through and into the perforated pipe that are subsequently discharged from the drainage pipe with the water. The remaining larger soil particles that are blocked from passing through the fabric, bridge against each other on the outer surface of the fabric. Like granular backfill materials, the bridging effect of these soil particles improves the permeability of the native backfill materials immediately surrounding the perforated drainage pipe.

**Q: does this mean you can avoid backfilling with shingle and covering with membrane?**
A: No need to cover with a geotextile membrane as that is what this product is doing the job of however you still back-fill with shingle as shingle also plays a part in the drainage process.

**Q: Does this sleeve stretch? Would the 60mm sleeve fit over a 68mm pvc drain pipe, or would I be better getting the 80mm sleeve?**
A: Hi, Yes there is some flexibility within the sleeve. This will fit a 68mm pipe.
