Thought it might be slippy on the stairs, but it was great. **Q: Is this claw/scratch proof? Could it be used to protect the carpet from scratching pets?** A: Not what’s it intended for. This is plastic and will easily be punctured by claws. It’s great for protecting carpets while decorating especially on stairs. Left it down for 3 weeks while replacing bathroom and carpet was spotless and unmarked when we removed it. For protection against pets you need a proper carpet protector! **Q: Would this stick to wooden flooring?** A: It's designed, I think, specifically for carpets. I would think it would stick to a clean, dust free wooden floor ok but depending on the surface of the floor, it might do damage when removed. I had a stained and varnished start of some stairs which it pulled some surface off. It was great for carpet. Once you practice how to lay it, the process becomes easier and before long you can attached and unroll along hallways and down the stairs. For my rooms it proved expensive compared to the last time I purchased it. However wiping up water splashes, paint spills and other debris is easy.
