It snaps in with basic plastic push-clips, which will eventually break over a long time, but it doesn't use up any of the default 4 HAT holes, which is much nicer than rpi options. Other than the plastic push-clips, I wish it has a mounting bracket for a fan as well. It was a "snap" to install and fit perfectly.The heatsink covers the CPU and the half of the memory on the top of the PCB. I don't think the memory really needs any sort of cooling, so this just gives it more space for the heat to spread. It lowers the CPU temp by about 20c while under high load.The only issue is that you have to install it the right way. It will fit either way, but will not totally cover the hatsink in the wrong direction.The other thing I don't like is that the sticky pad covers the entire bottom of the heatsink. It would have been better if it had been a couple smaller pads that matched.
