So once filtered you can flavor to liqueurs yes. But you wouldn't want to flavor before filtering if that's what your asking. **Q: can you use it for higher proof spirits?** A: The instructions say that the proof must be 100 or lower. We have run 110 through it and had great experiences. **Q: What's the capacity of the buckets? 1gallon, 3gal, or 5gal, etc.?** A: Mine is 3 gallon **Q: Is the carbon activated?** A: Yes, activated. This filtration unit uses easily replaceable solid porous activated carbon filters specifically designed for the maximum purification of alcohol or water.
