The cable seems robust enough to handle a bit of wear and tear. Unlike other solutions which are permanently attached to your keyring, being able to unclip this means it you can easily share it or charge your phone whilst keeping your keys handy. It was a bit fiddly putting it on a keyring but thats not something I would hold against it. Bear in mind it is quite short but if it were any longer it would probably get in the way.
