The clips are held in place directly into the lid assembly by a springy lug on each side of the catch. To get the old one out I found it best to grab the back end with a pair of pliers and break it up then it falls out the back. The new one clicks in place from the front end very easily. First one didn't seem to work very well so removed it and used the other one, which has been fine. As they're so cheap and postage relatively expensive I recommend buying a couple of packs just in case. **Q: what is the width of these clips?** A: Only one size so if 50 litre bin will fit, so easy to fit **Q: Will this fit a curver decobin** A: No idea my bin is a brabantia sorry can,t help you **Q: How to fit a catch replacement for bin 50litre** A: How to fit a catch replacement for bin 50litre ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Clips in very easy *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 19 October 2026* Had trouble closing bin replaced this part works perfect ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ does what it says (3 month review) *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 28 March 2022* It's tiny, in fact smaller than you expect. I have a bin that I think is nearly 30 years(?) old and credit to Brabantia that clip worked all that time and the bin is in perfect shape. I remember buying it and it was expensive so proof that quality pays for itself. In writing this, I now feel very old. (BTW just had to do the maths at approx 10 opening/closing of the bin per day that around 110K presses of the Brabantia clip...wow).I checked and the replacement cost for the whole lid was very expensive (shocker). Bought this and installing it sounds way way harder then it actually is. the web reviews made it sound about 500 times more complex.1. get the old one out, i pulled the 'legs' of the old one, it came out and then the whole body of the clip came out. one pliers, 30 seconds done...keep in mind i probably have V1 of this bin (the one made when dinosaurs roamed the earth).2. push fit replacement and it clicks into place.3. close lid, open lid, close lid and enjoy your revitalised bin and the glorious click of a lid secured.3 months or so later, still working fine. Im sure it wont last the next 30 years -- but replacing it every now and then, fine i can live with it.Also i sellotaped the second one so i would not loose it. Unfortunately, it sellotaped somewhere in the house now, that made perfect sense at the time. So put the second one somewhere you wont loose it. It is tiny by the way.but definite recommend to save your expensive bin. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Inserting the catch the right way makes a difference *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 28 June 2026* The first one of these I used on my 50 litre bin did not last very long. the lid would not always open or shut correctly. Then when inserting the second one I realised that I needed to ensure no plastic from the one that broke was still inside the slot. Also, it needs to be inserted a certain way. I can't remember which way but I've had the second one in for over 2 months and it has been working absolutely fine. ## Frequently Bought Together - World Imports 2 x Brabantia bin catch replacement 20 30 40 45 50 litre touch bin by - HARRY INDUSTRIES Binclips Repair clip/striker pin for Brabantia bin lid/Trash can lid (30L (29.5cm Dia round lid)) - HARRY INDUSTRIES Bin lid Clasp x2.
