These are not very thick, like silk ties - however they are not overly thin - they are a very good thickness to wear as an accessory to the top pocket. Once the large squares are folded into a pocket size square - the thicknesses does increase. These are really nice to handle and easy to fold, it may help to get rid of the original creases from where they were folded in shipping. As I said, I have never purchased something like this before however I’m learning new ways to fold these pocket squares. They sit very nicely in the top pocket of a suit jacket. As for packaging, each square for me came folded into a smaller square. Each in its own plastic pocket with a Shlax&Wing logo on each plastic pocket.
