But over time, I got better at holding it with the right pressure to keep it secure while I worked. This didn’t impact on the effectiveness of the sponge at all. And it’s done an excellent job cleaning up. I haven’t tried washing it yet, so can’t comment on whether that is effective or whether it works just as well after being cleaned. To do so the sponge can we washed in warm mild soapy water. Make sure to completely air dry the sponge after washing and don't dry in your dryer. **Q: Can you use on Quartz?** A: These sponges remove smoke and soot beautifully.
