I think it would make a nice gift for someone starting a new home, someone who likes to cook, or someone whose pans are getting old, or to ask for it as a birthday gift for yourself. My ceramic casserole dish cracked so I needed to ensure my new dish can withstand heat up to 500F. Cast iron was simply too heavy especially with the added weight of a roast. This Caraway is absolutely perfect. Sturdy, food does not stick and cleanup has been an absolute breeze. (Note instructions: do not use cooking sprays (eg Pam).)
