Review: Perfect...after McGyver-ing a slight improvement - This is an excellent razor handle. I really like how it has heft, and feels great in your hand. Most of the handle is made of metal, whereas the top, where the razor cartridge fits in, is made of plastic. However, overall, the razor handle is very weighty (in a good way) and feels great while shaving. For the past several months, I was using the typical plastic handle that I bought on desertcart (the original equipment handle). However, I was getting cut, nicked, and just not getting a close shave. I thought it was the Sensor 3 blades, and somehow they were not made as well as in the past. But then I got this handle. Honestly, the blades feel completely different. I am not sure if it is psychological, but I am getting the best shaves of my life. I think because the handle has some weight and heft, I don't feel the need anymore to put any pressure to shave. As a result, I am sticking to Sensor 3 blades. I have just one issue with the handle. I shave in the shower. Obviously, the handle gets wet and slick with shaving cream, water, etc. There are grippers on the handle at the top and bottom, but nothing in the middle. The middle of the handle is very smooth. A few times, the handle almost slipped out of my hand. I know in other reviews, people said they dropped their handle and it broke. That makes sense. So what did I do? I McGyvered a fix. I just bought a cheap roll of hockey stick tape (the tape you put on the blade, which is pretty water resistant). I literally put two one-inch pieces of tape around the handle, and the handle is now tacky enough that it is very unlikely to slip out of my hand. The roll of tape cost $5.78, and unfortunately, I only used about 2 inches of it, but perhaps a similar cloth tape that you have at home already will do. With that fix, the handle is even better, and perfectly secure in my hand. Please see the pictures attached. All in all, this a great handle. It's a little pricey, but as I said, for some reason this handle seems to shave so much better than those light plastic handles.
Review: Fantastic product - Great razor and handle. It is heavy duty and replaces my Gillette Sensor handle I have had for a long time. It finally broke in half and had a lot of rust inside. I am super happy to have found a replacement that accepts the sensor and excel cartridges as they are one of the few types to be able to shave up, down, sideways and be able to get close to nose and lips. So many of today's multi-blade razors don't get the precision closeness as the sensor type blades do. I would highly recommend this handle replacement and it came with one replacement cartridge as a bonus.

**Q: Again, where is this handle made?**
A: Not sure. This handle is much better made than original, slightly larger, and heavier. You won't be disappointed.

**Q: Does this have a plate to put razor in when not using like the normal Gillette razors**
A: There was "NO" plate or tray that came with this purchase. Also, I threw this item in the trash. The weight is definitely heavier then expected and for me was cumbersome. The final straw was when the center component, that joins the handle and razor, separated at the handle. Disappointing to say the least.

**Q: where are these made?**
A: Aluminum or stainless. I believe it is stainless because it is so heavy.

**Q: does taconic shaves heavy weight chrome Gillette sensor razor have a holder for it???**
A: RazorGuard makes a great holder for this razor and makes the razor shave much smoother and last longer

Great razor and handle. It is heavy duty and replaces my Gillette Sensor handle I have had for a long time. It finally broke in half and had a lot of rust inside. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Razor head that comes with it is useless, but does work with Gillette Sensor heads

This razor handle feels sturdy and the weight feels nice in the hand. I gave four stars because the razor head it comes with will not stay on (as shown in my video); so if you don't have a backup razor head, you may have to get some before using toys razor handle. Although it pops on to the Gillette Sensor razor head just fine, I am concerned for long time use. The plastic prongs that attach to the razor head don't seem like they'll last. Time will tell. I'll try to update for longevity in a few months.
