At first the fabric felt stiff and the manufacturing smell was strong and unpleasant. After the first washing the smell was gone, and after a few washings the fabric on the jacket became nice and soft and very comfortable. There is no pilling and the shape has held up well in this time, as well as the color (I got purple). It really is a flattering fit.
