For example there are no ameobas present?** A: This dust sent my chinchilla (and others in reviews) to the ER with breathing problems and nose discharge. I feel so bad for the poor thing. With so many animals having the same problem with this product I can't believe they are still allowed to sell it. **Q: Is aluminum silicate dust hazardous to breathe?** A: I don't know specifically what ingredient caused this and it may be a recent change in the product, but this dust sent my chinchilla (and others in reviews) to the ER with breathing problems and nose discharge. I feel so bad for the poor thing. With so many animals having the same problem with this product I can't believe they are still allowed to sell it. **Q: Why did this get hard when wet?** A: The product should not be exposed to water. The product is 100% pumice ground into a fine grade and is intended for use with Chinchillas for dry dust bathing only.
