It is made out of plastic, but of high quality and should last longer The lid completely closes the container so there is no chance of spilling. Much quicker to completely soak the coffee grounds all that is needed is to give it a good shake. Most items in this category usually need stirring. Everything just screws on. What I dislike The instructions mention if you want to make it more concentrated it is recommended to pull the filter out and drain the remaining liquid into the rest of the concentrate for 45mins. But there is no easy way to do that unless you have a separate container where you can pour the concentrate and for the filter to rest above it. Because this a close and shake cold brew maker would imagine the rubber seal will be the first thing to go. But im sure that can be easily replaced. I have not given a flavour rating as I think it is irrelevant to this item because you're never going to get apple to apple comparison between other individuals who have written a review. But what I will say in comparison to my old one, the ratio between coffee and water seems higher than my previous one which required 1.1L to 80g of coffee. The instructions for this item require around 950ML to 108g of Coffee so it is more concentrated. The coffee maker uses an ultra-fine mesh filter, while the iced tea maker uses one that is not as fine. What measurement works best?** A: After my first attempt, I also experienced dry grounds. The next time, I put the filter in the pitcher and gently ran water over it. Omg **Q: When do you add infuser? do you put infuser in after 32 ounces or after 3/4 full? thanks. the instructions say to add 32 ounces and to fill 3/4 full.** A: Add the infused after filling the container/pitcher with water. 32 ounces is about 3/4 full but honestly you don't need to be THAT exact with it. Miss it by a little and it will be insignificantly stronger. Miss it by a little too much and it will be insignificantly weaker. It really won't make much of a difference either way unless you have a ridiculously refined pallet. Personally, I just fill it up and eyeball when I think it's about 3/4 full and then I put the infuser in (the infuser is already filled with the coarse ground coffee beans when I put it in the pitcher). **Q: The suggested coffee amount seems so wasteful (14-16 tbsp) can you get away with using less?** A: You can try using less, stsrt with 9nor 10, then cold steep it for 24 hrs or even 48. Its great to be able to have a beverage I love without having to buy it in horrible plastic bottles at much greater expense. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by A***R on 25 August 2023* This is an easy to use and very easy to clean Cold brew container, the filter is very fine and no coffee particles end up in the brew. One thing I would recommend is not to place the coffee grinds into the sieve, but place them inside the jar with out the sieve being used until you want to filter the mix as trying to get the water in contact with the coffee grinds packed in the sieve isn't as easy as it is to just shake the container with the grind lose inside, you get a better end result, If I were you I would try both ways and see which you prefer. They say to do a coarse grind, I haven't found any difference with a coarse or fine grind, flavour seems to be exactly the same, I find time makes the biggest difference as well as temperature. Yes it's a cold brew :) but how cold will tell you how long to keep it in, my fridge is set a little colder than the recommended 4C, this means that things inside the fridge last longer, it also means the Cold brew will brew a little slower.
