The black and purple box is the U.K. blend, and the yellow box is the blend for the U.S. I contacted Twinings through their U.K. website and they confirmed the blends are different. They said they use different blends for different markets because "Americans don't like" the more flavorful U.K. teas. I, however, DO much prefer the purple box U.K. Earl Grey. **Q: Is this authentic twining brand? what is expiration date?** A: Hi. This is Twinings from the UK and the date on our current batch at Jan 2018 is Feb 2019.
