If you zip the jacket, it does not ride up. I am a size 8-10, but ordered L because I assumed it would fit snug being a Yoga jacket. I wanted to be able to wear it over T-shirts in the winter. I returned this one & ordered XL to get a fit that is less snug. While I will keep the XL, I was disappointed that it isn't much bigger in the hips. It is larger in the shoulders & sleeve length. Because these are made with sturdy fabric, the ends of the sleeves will turn up nicely and stay up when you don't require the sleeves to cover the hands (where the thumb holes are) It is a nice tailored cuff at the end of the sleeves.
